My FX upgrade/build progess

Recommended Posts

Got a good deal I couldn't pass up on an old FX TK, and thanks to this very helpful FX conversion thread:

http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/12478-howto-easily-make-your-fx-armor-eib-acceptable/ , I've been able to put in a few dollars and a few minutes here and there to make this a decent looking TK.

Here's the suit before-

And the story so far...

First things first, out with that atrocious bobble head bucket! Went for Elumusic's newly created BX helmets (his work found here- http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28271-bx-built-stormtrooper-helmets-finished-and-kits/ )

Swapping out the big black ab buttons for a set of VaderDave's

Plastic -> Canvas belt

*pop* *pop*

That was easy...

I also brought up the gap of the drop boxes to nearly nothing (with correct white elastic strapping), installed metal clips for the thermal detonator, and am working on installing an old fan/mic kit I've had for a while...

Just a small suggestion if I where you, I would not use your speaker in the mic tips. Especially that the mic tips on your FX helmet are not that nice compared to the one that came with your new helmet.

Hey Jake! Glad to see you've come to the serious Trooper hang-out. I know you're used to sitting around and lounging, but those days are gone. Feel free to stand around though. LoL.

Go ahead and cut the corners on your belt to 45 degrees, too. Looking good though. ;)

I guess since we're talking about the belt, do you have the next level of covers for the rivets? It looks as if yours has a single raised surface, which you've riveted through. There should be another raised bump, which would cover those rivets. Just a dime sized, rounded piece of ABS glued in place will do.
