Jedi-Robe Armor modification help!

Heyo everyone!

As you can probably tell, I'm a pretty big n00b to this community, but I hope I can still gain some help from it.

Recently, I purchased a set of Standard-Size Ready-to-Wear Jedi-Robe armor. It frankly isn't too bad, however, I recently came of age to join the 501st and am really looking to meet their requirements. I've seen that people suggest modifications, but if someone could possibly list the specific modifications necessary for this particular armor, I'd be incredibly grateful.

Needs new boots
Black elastic strap on the shoulders around your biceps

Cut the buttplate to shape
Remove more or less all velcro from the parts and glue them together using but-join and coverstrips method, or overlap(Would also advise cutting the pieces to fit you, before gluing).

Exchange plastic belt with fabric
Get covers for the screws on the belt.
Cut belt corners to a 45 angle

Glue Kneeplate

Attach and round off knee ammo pack

Glue plastic shoulder straps to front plate

make correct attachment of TD canister(two aluminium "clips")

I think thats the main parts.

Take a look at the CRL and others build threads, and you will get the idea ;)

It actually doesn't look as bad as everyone is always going on about....I can see where people would complain that there are better self assembled kits for less money, but this looks a heck of a lot better than rubbies or FX kits do and the list of stuff to modify is fairly short.

Good luck with the work and makes sure you post some photo along the way!

Not entirely sure where the helmet comes from originally.
There have been speculations, that its a recast SDS battlespec helmet though...

And I agree Vern. Suit is definetly FX derived.

Jedi robe armor is recast FX armor with a recast SDS helmet. So it is as bad as an FX armor if not worst because it's a recast of a recast! But of course it can be fixed. And when compared to a screen accurate suits, the differences are huge...

Use the plastic belt plastic for cover strips! That way its a perfect match with the color of your armor.

Actually, the belt the armor came with had the ammo belt of the front of a canvas belt. Perhaps Jedi-Robe haa somewhat tried to improve their quality of costume?

I'm sorry, but can you explain the Overlap method? I'm just curious
