Better Headset to work with Aker?

Recommended Posts

I just got the Aker 10W voice amp but the headset is lousy. I used it for the first time Saturday and had nothing but problems with mic staying close enough to activate the voice amp. Any one know of a better headset that will work with the Aker?

Thanks

Mine works fine Steve. You are correct, it needs to sit close to your mouth.

There is a white line on one side of the mic near the foam tip, just make sure that it faces you and is not twisted around. I actually hold the mic in my teeth when putting my helmet on and haven't had problems, am about to trial it with an icon I have borrowed from another Trooper and will possibly also go with a memories wireless set up so I don't have to deal with the mic cord from the helmet.

Held it with my teeth is what I ended up doing too. Since I had to grab the mic with my mouth so much, this ended up causing the white line to twist away... Maybe I just got a bad headset cause the arm on it sucks!

If you bought it from Jim at Voicebooster/TK Products LLC., let him know and he will take care of you. His customer service has always been excellent!

I agree, his customer service is very good.

I could not get my Aker + iComm to work together. It was not picking up my voice unless I shouted, and then cutting out before I was done talking. The Aker alone worked fine. He helped me troubleshoot the problem. We could not get it working, so he had me send it back. He tested it, said it was all working fine, and gave me a refund for the iComm. I'm still using the Aker.
