unofficially: gast! geweldig! :)

officially: nice RS build!

before the real verdict comes, some points to consider:

The dropboxes on your belt should allign the outside of the plastic ammo belt. They can be moved a couple of cm to the outside.

You painted all bolts and screws either white or black, as it should be.

however, the buttons on your crotch/cod armor, should not be painted. So you need to scratch the paint off there.

Besides that: very nice indeed!

Okay, here's a small update on two points:

the buttons on my crotch/cod armor are no longer white

the dropboxes on my belt should are now aligning with the outside of the plastic ammo belt.

Here are the pics:

I think you could also consider tapering more the ends of your frown, they're a bit square right now.

Great looking armor otherwise!! Good luck with your application :)

Thanks for your advice Germain: I'll definitely keep this in mind.

Since tapering is a little bit more complex, I'll first wait for the verdict before starting to saw immediately...  ;)

Looks good. Do you have black straps on the bottom of the shoulder bells? Also, a recommendation will be to move the ends of your TD clips so they line up against the edge of the control panel and switch out the screws with slot head screws. These two things probably won't hurt your EIB application. They're more for centurion....

Best of luck fellow trooper! :)

Hey Teet, Looking good!  Some suggestions I have:

Your shins should come down on top of your boots more.  Right now you have the bottom of your shins riding on the tops of your boots.  They should be coming down the front of the boot and cover about half of the side elastic on the boots.

The shoulder plastic looks to be hovering a bit high when it comes over the back plate.  You may want to try and heat bend them so they hug the back plate a bit more.

Something that's a little more difficult to change is how your thighs fit at the top.  There seems to be quite a gap between your leg and your thigh pieces at the top.  You may wish to bring that fit in more at the top which will make them look less big on you.  Also, the left thigh looks like it's hanging lower than the right, but I think that might be the fit at the top of the thigh more than a strapping issue.

I think the painted traps on the temples and the back of the helmet seem a little small.

I don't believe any of these will affect EIB, but could be some modifications to make.   Good luck on your app!

Thank you Ron and Andrew!

@Ron: for the shin issue I'm going for Twan's (TK-12436) solution:

adjustable elastic straps under my heels, attached to velcrod straps inside my shin caps.

For the shoulder plastics: before heating things up, I'll first see how to do this the best way, before ending up as a marshmallow...

Those shoulder bridges look fine to me. And if your really need to tape them down i guess it could be done by just adjusting the elastic which goes around the shoulder bridges

I agree. Don't heat bend the shoulder bridges. Just get the elastics to hold them down.

And buddy, your armour is droolworthy ;)

All the best in your application.

The shadow seemed a bit too strong on the back with the shoulder bridges, which prompted my thought for heat bending them.

I would absolutely not suggest to use a heat gun on those bridges, though.  The safe way is to put them in a pot of boiling water for 15-20 seconds and then hold them in the position of the bend until cooled.  I did several pieces like that and it worked great without a fear of melting the plastic.

Thank you Arti, my first troop last wednesday with you and the other guys (and girl) were great!

We were all dressed up great!

I also liked it because we were with so many TK's to escort Lord Vader.

I think that is more accurate with episodes IV, V and IV than Vader being escorted by two TK's only...

Hey there, Thierry!! Thank you for your application for Expert infantry. There are never too many sets of nicely built RS suits. Yours is yet another!

CRL and EIB Application Requirements:

All required submission photos have been posted. Your armor meets all requirements for Expert Infantry. With that, I would like to congratulate and welcome you to EIB!!!

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly:

This is the section where your fellow troopers and myself give suggestions to further improve the look of your armor. These suggestions will not affect your applications.

A lot was covered here. All were good points. You have done a great job addressing many things right away.

The strap to keep down your shins to the top of your shoes is a good idea. Please see "Centurion Suggestions" to see where I will mention this further.

Your paintwork on your helmet is dynamite! I agree that you could shape the ends of your frown to a point. It would really make that frown pop. As for Ron's suggestions regarding the front and rear trap being a bit small.....perhaps they could be slightly enlarged to meet the edges of the indents but it would be so slight that I won't make an issue of yours. It was a good observation, though.

Did you make the folding stock on your blaster functional?? If so, NICE!

IF you wanted to, you could replace the phillips (criss cross) head screws for slotted ones for more accuracy.

Centurion Suggestions:

I would suspect with such a nice set of armor that you intend on shooting for Centurion.

I know that you have already addressed several issues that were brought up like the drop box alignment, raised shins, and painted crotch rivets. Make sure that any Centurion application pics are re-taken if they show any of these points.

I would like to see the clips on your thermal detonator adjusted to touch the control panel.gallery_12157_51_33329.jpg

As for the topic of your shoulder bridges, it would be a difficult task to heat bend them with them glued in place. I wouldn;t worry about them. However, if it bugs you, you can always glue the 1/4 inch white elastic to the underside of the back plate near the shoulder. This will keep it from moving and hold down those bridges snug.

Very nice work on your armor and congratulations again!!

Thanks so much Steve: I'm happy!  :)

All the other guys: thanks for all of your good info and tips!

@Twan: congratulations with you Centurion status!!!

Indeed, my next step is to adjust some points.

The straps at my shins are already done and works great.

After I've adapted the mentioned points I'll make new pics for the Centurion requirement.

Here's a picture of the back of my detonator: first they didn't, but now they do tough the control panel:

Cheers!

To be continued...
