Pinktrooper
I want to customize my stormtrooper. (I know I won't be allowed into 501) I have a quick question if any of you guys have customize your trooper. It is better to use spray paint or auto paint? Help, and thank you -Wendy. careoftheoldfolkshome
I'm commenting so i can follow this thread. I am also considering getting an extra suit and styling it after a sports uniform (Tennessee Titans or Nashville Predators).
Grimez
I used Krylon Colormaster spray paint to do the gloss white for my helmet. It went on pretty well once I got closer to it. Dries in 10 minutes or less. Works really well in my experience, i'm sure the other colors work just as well. F1guy
What are the risks to painting? Will it flake off on ABS? Will I have to sand the helmet to create a rough surface for the paint to stick to? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
pandatrooper[TK]
Sand with 400 grit, clean with detergent not alcohol, prime, paint. Abs will take paint fine if prepped. Auto paints used to be chemical or lacquer based, but the industry moved to water based for environmental reasons. Prep is the key as is temperature and humidity. Crappy prep = crappy paint.
