fuumantroop[TK]
Hello fellow troopers! Just wanted to share my build with everyone that may be interested. Im currently awaiting for my armor, so like many of you, i decided to pass the time with an E-11. I decided to go with a Hasbro E-11 Doopy Doo conversion, mainly because I found the combination for a good deal from a local-ish garrison member. First off, heres my blaster, along with the DD kit, and some snaps I ordered that happened to make it into the photo Another pic of the Hasbro Me taking off the small scope cover, i used the traditional flathead/hammer combo for the scope Then comes the dreaded front cover Not too much damage done, and please excuse the pic quality! Another shot And of course, my son HAD to get an action shot Off comes the orange ugliness Then pried the hasbro open Luckily with little to no damage! Reshaped the trigger a bit, not accurate, but this actually gave me more trouble than i imagined, so I just went for it(anythings better than the original hasbro trigger) Time to cut off the front And was able to avoid the led! Time for more dremmeling! Sanded off the legal blah blah blahs
fuumantroop[TK]
Found the scope decal i wanted to use And had to make a trip to office depot for ink to print out wedding invitations, so while i was there, i picked up a small magnifying glass for my scope And heres what I got after sizing it down Then printed the scope decal on some HP 5x7 advanced photo paper..i resized the image in microsoft word in two sizes. One was 1", and the other 1.1" The 1.1" fit perfectly..test fit
fuumantroop[TK]
I decided instead of try to hollow out the original hasbro scope cover, to use the ever so popular tape roll replacement.. Then, i wanted a way to mount my newly made lens so that I could easily take it out and replace the decal if I wanted to later on...i used a cut up old android usb charging cord that my cats Luke and Leia decided to chew apart...rebel scum! Here are the results...i will add the picture later on after Im done being sidetracked by the scope! I didnt fully take of the leftover adhesive from the tape that was once on it, so the roll got a bit dirty..will clean it up before I actually need it
fuumantroop[TK]
I also purposely left a gap between the ends of the charging cord that I will fill with bondo or E6k and paint it. This will hopefully make it easier to take out the decal and replace when the time comes
fuumantroop[TK]
I have to also thank Zarlon for his current thread for all of his help on this build! And also to ALL the otheres here on fisd For your previous posts!
fuumantroop[TK]
Then got a template from the best sterling thread...and taped it to the barrel While awaiting for my drill to charge..i went ahead and hollowed the front of the scope...always sidetracked by the scope!! fuumantroop[TK]
After my drill was charged, i drilled pilot holes Then commenced using a regular 7/16s drill i got from work Also used small hobby files and sandpaper to touch up after the drilling
fuumantroop[TK]
Then again with A LOT of help(as i am no expert in electronics by ANY means) to Zarlon, i was able to wire a bypass, then install a brighter and better LED...my plans are to light up the barrel Purchased from radioshack for about $3 And replaced the regular old alkalines with some Energizer Ultimate lithiums And BIG BADA BOOM! I was so excited that the light actually worked, and the batteries REALLY made a difference in sound volume, that i hurried to semi put the other piece of the blaster together to see the barrel light up...that...the negative lead to the led came out beyond repair....will have to run to radioshack tomorrow for another replacement :/ I got bored and put the old LED on for giggles, and the batteries even made THEM shine brighter! I have no pics yet...hopefully will be some tomorrow Edited June 25, 2014 by fuumantroop
Sir Tomasu[TK]
Looking good, to bad about led. Looking forward to see how your build comes along. I have been planing to do one of this conversions myself, but I have been having trouble finding a Hasbro blaster
fuumantroop[TK]
Thanks Tomas! I was thinking about replacing the barrel with a more accurate pvc pipe, but since it is just a hasbro, i decided to hold off on that. Maybe if i get bored down the line i will go ahead and replace it, but for now i decided to keep it. I have found a couple of hasbros on ebay, i know the disney store online used to have them. Maybe even amazon?
Sir Tomasu[TK]
Yeah I have been looking on ebay and found one on amazon for about 50$. Only problem is the shipping, apparently no one wants to send them to me But not looking to hijack your build here. Will maybe PM you if I get really stuck in finding a good one. Keep up the great work on the build
Zarlon[TK]
:Looking good Andrew! I need to think about the scope detail. I like that idea but I've been a bit hesitant to try it out. It looks like I need to do some more research
fuumantroop[TK]
Its not as hard as it seems! I am thinking about trying the cut up CD with a plastic cover for the front, but we'll see...gonna try to put it back together tonight..just have to make a holder for the led... fuumantroop[TK]
Just gotta find some sorta mount
fuumantroop[TK]
Back at it tonight...i wanted to make a mount for my led before the muzzle...so i looked around and found an old rubber footing that came with my bass amplifier that I won't ever need again(i rack mounted my amp).. Went to radioshack yet again, to find another LED since the negative lead broke off the one i just installed, and also picked up some LED holders Slipped the mounts through the rubber foot, and also dremmeled a but off to fit more securely inside the blaster(forgot to take pics, sorry!). Also found my old LED flashlight and took it apart to use the led housing from inside. And this is what i got So i went ahead an glued it inside the hasbro using zapagap..only glued the rubber inside as the heat shrinks held quite nocely through the smaller hole of the rubber. Test fire! And no its not really pink! Its my stoopid phone lol In the dark held together with the other side...pew pew pew! Since my flashlight is scrap now, i decided that ill use the small plexiglass for the very front of my scope! So i trimmed it down a hair I also dremmeled some holes so my speaker cuts through better after I install the resin pieces..hopefully tomorrow! Not perfect, but as long as the exposed side looks decent I am happy! And heres a test fit That was it for tonight! Hopefully ill glue the DD pieces to the hasbro tomorrow! Then its on to painting while its still in two pieces that way i can get the inside of the muzzle without painting my led on accident! gmrhodes13[Staff]
Looking good, nice LED mod, looks familiar
fuumantroop[TK]
could be! But ya never know the specs. I bought two different kinds of this size, but decided on this one as it was brighter, with the specs being practically the same
fuumantroop[TK]
And your housing idea is pure genius! Thanks again for the help!
fuumantroop[TK]
Well, nothing too fancy tonight. Just glued some of the DD kit to my hasbro. And glued some hex screws to the blaster tip. Basically just worn out from the work week. Also has been raining so painting is out of the question anyways. I may hollow out the front sight tomorrow, but we shall see! Working 50+ hours a week for the past month is slowly draining me. Enjoy the pics! I was brave and used zap a gap for the resin parts, but im pretty happy with how it turned out!
fuumantroop[TK]
Quick question...ive seen multiple builds with the t tracks covering up all the holes on the muzzle, and also some that leave the front hole, or blowback shield, open...which is the correct way? fuumantroop[TK]
Last pics for the night..im up way past my bedtime...but when my 6 month old baby girl wants to play, i just melt like butter lol. Shes deffinitely a daddys girl! Anyways, heres a quick fit with my modified tape roll mod with the decal...i will probably mess around with it more before painting. Maybe even move the decal further into the scope..that way kids that like Jar Jar dont get offended right off the bat! And yes i know Jar Jar wasn't in the originals, but I would rather blast him any day of the week! Here it is! AND also forgot to post my holster I received today on the mail via Darman! This thing is awesome! Figured i'd at least squeeze in a test fit! My 5 year old boy kept bugging me to play with the blaster..so i taped it up and did more test fitting! Also my neck seal was in the package, but I won't post it here because this is an E-11 build not an armor build...YET.. Taking my doopy folding stock to work with me tomorrow to drill out the holes with our drill press since I will more than likely just be training a new employee. Also going to find a brass/gold colored paint for the scope tomorrow. Until next time! Edited June 27, 2014 by fuumantroop
