New thread: Iron Man Mark VI foam build

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, since i had some troubles uploading pictures in my last thread i am making a new one and hopefully this will work :)

So i have been building this Iron Man armor for about 2 weeks and i thought i would share it with you guys.
If you have any questions i will gladly answer them, and if you have any opinions about my work feel free the share them here with me as i appreciate all comments, tips and so on.. :)

Anyway, here it goes:

Materials used: (so far)
Sharp Scissors, EVA-foam gymnastic rugs, Velcro, green lenses and a glue gun with some glue sticks.

I used a program called "pepakura viewer" which allows me to print out the armor in paper, cut it out with scissors and then use them to create armor parts out of foam, the pepakura files i got just by googling "pepakura iron man foam files".. simple as that! :)

Thank you sly! :)

I made the forearm yesterday but unfortenatly i have run out of materials, going to shop tomorrow for some more!

Picture of the forearm is coming up :)

Also, i am trying to decide wich colors i an going to use on the suit, and i need opinions.

The options are: the classic red and gold, silver or black. What do you guys think?

The Iconic Iron Man colours of red and gold do look fantastic, have you considered War machine Stars and Stripes

Yes that's a good call, red and gold or you could be original and go Blue and Gold like your country flag

Trust me, you can! I have been working at this project for about 3 weeks and it has been so much fun and not hard at all. All you need is some foam, a glue gun, a pair of scissors and one or two hours of time a day :)

It is really like what you did in kindergardeb, playing with paper and scissors :)

By the way, the armor is basicly finised now, i have painted it with white glue so that it holds together better and it gives the armor a nice shiny look. I will now paint the armor, and will probably make it red and gold as the original :)

Perhaps after my TK is completed i will give it a whirl! Until then, ill have to research the heck outta the Ironman armor! Or even a mini TK for my son!

Thank you sly for your kind words and for following this journey! Next stop is placing the arc reactor, getting the boots done and last but not least maybe install some electronics, who knows ;)
