maldo
Ok so I got my armor from a guy on this site. He sold it as a TK but really it was a TD so I'm missing parts (doing a ANH TK) but that another story. So the build begins, I'm just about done with the arms and legs. Here are some pics please let me know what needs work and what looks ok.
LadyInWhite[TK]
Great to see you here, Paul!!! It's hard to tell for sure with the lighting and from photos, but some of your edges look not very smooth. Did you try the heat-sealing iron to put some return edge back on? Or perhaps it just needs a tiny bit more trimming or sanding so that all the edges have a nice smooth curve (or flat where it should be flat). You can probably trim some off the bottom of the shins, too, where it's uneven on either side. Nevertheless, don't stress that for now. Keep building and I'll take a look at those deatils at the next armor party for ya.

I'm Batman[501st]
It looks long and skinny. That could just be the photo or my computer maybe. Do the measurements match the reference pics?
maldo
The pipe is 2" round and 7.5" long. I hope that's right.
I'm Batman[501st]
Yeah, it's right. 2" is on the narrower limit, which is probably why it looks different. Mine is on the upper limit. Thermal Detonator For 501st approval: (A.K.A. O2 canister) attaches to the center back of the belt. This is an all gray cylinder without silver stickers or silver paint. The cylinder is between 2†(50mm) and 2.68"(68mm) in diameter with white end caps on each end. The white control panel pad faces upwards, with controls/round washer style detail closest to the right end cap. The total length should be approximately 7.50" (190.5mm). The thermal detonator shall be attached via metal or metallic-appearing clips approximately 1" (25mm) wide. For level two certification (if applicable): Thermal detonator belt clips must be positioned near the end caps with a approximate 1/8" (3 mm) gap. For level three certification (if applicable):
maldo
Thanks for the info. ATA caps are made for 2" pipe so I could not make it thicker.
LadyInWhite[TK]
Paul, it's fine for approval, trust me. You can always get a kit for another if you end up feeling the need to upgrade it. Also with regard to your cover strip question, put on a tight-fitting long sleeve shirt if you have one (or under-suit) and put the biceps on and have someone take a picture. If you've got big guns, you've got big guns, what can ya do? I could help you do a shim in there so you can shrink the cover strip on the outside, but it will require a lot of filling and sanding/polishing. Best explained in person.
