Okay, here are some BIG pics.

If they're too big, I'll shrink them tomorrow, (and I cant do it right know) but I really like to show off some details.

I also leave the pics uncommented until tomorrow (too tired), but in short I can say this

Great now I'll have to buy these too!!

Great work Karin!

And here I was thinking that you're already had it down perfectly.

Well. Like the saying goes. “In the end you're only competing with yourself.†You really did beat yourself good this time. :)

Wow, Karin... Artistry adds Sonnenschein to the roster, alongside Michelangelo, Donatello, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, et al. :D

So there's no knuckle indentations in fact? They're just made by the own wearer's knuckles pushing/pressing on the latex flashing?

That's really interesting! Sounds like another incredible piece of small accuracy discovered  :th_AnimatedBravoSmiley:

Congrats Karin!

You are correct. Furthermore, the paint will go off on the pressure points, enchancing the "effect".

But the can still be simulated.

I'm using chrome :)

in case you're wondering: Yours (and other I made in the past) are still screen accurate. Not all were thin and "super flexible"

I know but I must have this one as well !! Lol

  • 4 weeks later...

I forgot: there were some very flat hand guards, without flash, like the sandtrooper guards.

Does that mean I am going to need two sets?

1 for my Sandtrooper and 1 for my ANH Stormtrooper?

Interesting.

Probably, Juan, Probably. :)

See, the sandtrooper hand guards I found were all flat, thin, solid, and had no tilt.

You could say the complete oppposite of the stormtrooper hand guards.

I even found one that looked totally different than all others (no, NOT the cheese grater), but I still need to research on it.

Very interesting.

If you have any new info or references, that would be very cool to see.

Ill be patiently waiting for a set of those TD handguards...

;)

Karin has since retired from making her legendary hand guards, but she sold her molds and now these hand guards are available again from Imperial Supply Depot: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41111-imperial-supply-depot/

Hello buddy

Thanks for shout out.

I am indeed carrying on the legend of Karins excellent guards.

The variants are:

Glossy silicone

Painted latex with anti-scuff/peel paint

Super thin sandtrooper

Black TX silicone and latex

Cheese grater sandtrooper

Alternative (hero) in latex or silicone

Since the original thread was made by Karin who no longer offers these, you can go to Clive's excellent resource thread.

It's great to see the torch being passed to good hands.  Karin - you will forever be remembered as the Queen of Hand Guards on FISD.  Probably nearly every trooper who is using latex hand guards is because of you!
