TMacken McQuarrie Concept Stormtrooper Build

Recommended Posts

Ok. Was wondering. We were going to fit them to us, & as it sits the guys don't want to do any bondo/painting.

Yeah, I can totally understand not wanting to bondo and paint, it's going to be a lengthy process to get this stuff totally smooth. I had to take a break, my arm was getting tired.

Have you guys worked on the Belt yet? Curious where to cut the piece that attaches to each side to make the belt go around the back.

Arturo has. Before I start mine I want to see his done first, plus our belts are going to be fabric instead of plastic.

Cool, glad you guys figured it out. That kit is going to be sweet. The gussets I totally meant chest and back, the clones have a set for the cod and butt as well as the chest and back. Keep up the good work.

Sorry I have not been on FISD for a while...

Wow Jason you have made a great start to this. I am glad you were able to figure out what parts go where.

I was going to also give you the link to my Photobucket but Seeker just did so ya use the images I have there as a guild. I also have assembly tips step by step up on www.rmqconceptcrew.com Log on and request access.

FWI to anyone else putting this armor together: Bondo is a must! You need to make the joint parts seamless before you paint it. I also have the choice of paints shown on rmqcc.

I have a bit more info to add on the helmet but you have a great start on that too..

Thanks Kevin, I've had my eye out on rmqconceptcrew.com eagerly awaiting your updates. Meanwhile, I have all the arms and legs bondo'd and I'm working on sanding them. Hoping to do some painting on Friday. Will post more pics then.

OK, got stuff bondo'd and ready for paint, also laid down some primer today, so I can sand this stuff up, and hopefully give it a final gloss coat on Monday when it's 70 here.

The armor will be gorgeous for sure!

We have two McQuarries in the French Garisson and they're so awesome :icon_eek: :

You should get them to sign up here ;)

Also, have them register their costumes on 501st.com in the membershipDB.

Well, one of them is from the French Garrison, but the other is from Monaco, which is in the french territory but is an independant Outpost.

I know they've just finished the armor in time for the event and as it was an informal one they surely didn't take the time to approved them. But i'm sure they'll do ;)

Here are some more pics, please do not repost them ! (i just put the links to not overload and highjack your thread Travis):

The5thHorseman thanks for the pics, I never realized how tough it would be to put armor together without very many build logs and finished photo's to base yours on.
