Problem with throat mic and Akers amp

Recommended Posts

Hey guys any electronic people out there? I just bought a 10 w aker amp and found that the feed back from the mic and the fact that I had to deal with wires got me mad! So I decided to by a throat mic. Problem solved I thought! Now the mic has arrived I can't get it to work thru the Aker. The mic is for use with a radio and has a 3 ring 3.5 mm jack. The Acker has only 1 ring jack. Are these incompatible or what any advice would be amazing!

You are using a headphone/mic combo. The Aker amp is not build for these type of connection. You will notice that your jack is much more longer than the original Aker jack.

Everyone I've seen use this combo has had to splice wiring. It will take some patience and experimentation to get it right.

Bace222 did you check out my thread on throat mics?

May hold the solution for you.
