Ratchet ESB NE Build

Recommended Posts

This has been copied from my Garrison Thread, so its a little old, I forgot in all the excitement that I have a huge wealth of knowledge and help here

Its here....Its here...ITS HERE!!!!!this is how I remember Xmas morning feeling like.

I placed my order with Trooper Gear back on the 19th July, didn't expect it to arrive this quick.
I decided that NE Armour was my best option for 2 reason, 1st as a Fortified Assault Trooper ,I really only had 2 choices and after receiving this reply

"Unfortunately at the present time I am not taking any more new orders for full suits or parts.

As well, the wait list for 2013 is full and I am now into the 2014 wait list which you are welcome to join." from Rob at RT-Mod.

I was down to 1, and it was my preferred anyway.

Lots of options

Even more, flat lenses, bubble lenses, glue, mic tips, even a helmet liner.

Pre made straps, not sure how much I'll use of this yet, but I'll work that out as I get closer to that part.
Now the best part

the entire suit in all its shiny white goodness

I'm a little concerned on the fit with the forearms, the gap at the hand end seems to loose and floppy, but its a small as I can make it and still fit my hand through any suggestions?

fitting, don't forget the boots

as you can see the paint on the boots isn't holding up very well, might have to try something different.

The replacement ears have arrived, yay, I can now do some more work on the bucket.

Here are some reference pics
20131007_235902_zpsca05aa01.jpg

the new ears are on the right, old on the left, the new ears are a little longer and also sharpened up the detail, including marks for the screw placement.

  • 1 month later...

Detonator finished, a straight forward part of the build with the all parts except the clip trimmed and correctly coloured ready for gluing. for the clips i used 25mmx1.6mm aluminum strip and followed the instructions from  TK Leper

as you can see the upper back piece just isn't sitting right, wondering if trimming down the run edges seen below so they are all uniform would help, down the sides it ranges from 7mm out 22mm

bottom return edge is 22mm

Here are the NE hand plates , had to trim off just over 1/2-1" off the bottom and taper the back of the plate to get the right shape, now just have to stitch it on.

Belt, canvas belt and drop boxes fitted, I decided I liked the Idea of using Chicago screws of holding its semi permanently to the AB plate, I'm very happy with the way it has come together

20140207_114014_zpszf2p2roo.jpg

For the back of the drop boxes I cut a small slit in the top of the back for the nylon strap to slide through and use a standard rivet and washer to secure the nylon strap to the inside of the back of the belt box.

not the way it was done in the film... so why did you do it?

I hate to be so critical... but I have to be honest.. and I'll do my best to follow up and be productive and positive!

TK Bondservnt 2392 I appreciate your feedback, as you can see in my thread, there has not been much to date, I have responded below to each point in blue, I would appreciate if you could also point me in the right directions for correct references to assist me in correcting.

belt does not go on the butt plate... it should ride on the back kidney plate?

the belt was worn purely to hold the ab and kidney plate together as the strapping was incomplete

20131026_154525_zps59172c07.jpg

drop box backs are not right...

webbing is not used for drop boxes...

from the CRL

The drop boxes dangle from the sides of the front plastic belt (ammo belt) via white straps and are aligned under the plastic tabs of the ammo belt. I wasn't able to find a consistent reference, not saying it isn't there, I couldn't find it and the CRL states straps, not white elastic or canvas etc

Please guide me in the correct way so I can correct my mistake.

on and on the errors seem to flow?

helmet brow trim is not supposed to be cut at an angle? it's supposed to be 90 degrees?

Nothing stated in CRL, maybe this should be added?

well these are the references I used, from this site

http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/sizes/2427-tutorials-anh-stunt/large/

and

http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/sizes/2425-tutorials-esb-helmet/large/

http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/sizes/793-aac42d3e/large/

If it is incorrect then perhaps they should be removed.

there are lot's of problems with the fitting photos...

yes there sure is but as this was my first time putting together all the components to get a feel for the fitting of the suit, please refer to the more recent photos posted on the 7th of Feb

man... I can't see right..; I'll have to chime in tomorrow?

thermal det screws are in the wrong locations...

As I stated in the post I made the clips follow TK Leper tutorial, again if this is incorrect then it should be updated,

please direct me to the correct reference

20131026_122820_zps8ff3b476.jpg

boots should have NO seams in front

I believe this is a level 3 requirement and a seam is acceptable for basic approval, I grabbed these due to the issues with sourcing TK Boots, as this would enable to troop until I was able to get a better pair, which I have now sourced.

20130819_223018_zpsc16b80f6.jpg

at the current point of your build you BARLY pass base acceptance?

sorry to say?

I will be posting some pre approval photos next, please cast youre keen eye over these

I feel I'm finally ready to submit my approval photos, but I would appreciate some feedback, prior to doing so as to not unnecessarily waste the GML's time...so don't be shy

Things I have already picked up to address, lighting, left bicep twisted, need more curve in the butt plate, move the Thermal Det to centre of back

If possible, maybe raise the thighs a tad, just to cut down the odds of your drop boxes dropping behind the thighs, it has happened to me before.

The Thermal and the bicep you already picked up on, and they are fairly easy fixes that can be taken care of easy.  Good job!
