Belt

Can depend on how much bend you have in your plastic section, you may need to heat it a little and form it to your armor, that would take some stress out of it. Some snaps are pretty weak, you can squash them slightly with pliers, may be worth a try before going for a complete overhaul :D

Wait....you said you riveted your belt to your ab.  That might be the first place to start. The plastic ammo belt should first be attached to your canvas belt. then the canvas belt should be held to the ab plate with snaps. I would suggest the plastic piece is not formed properly around the armor, may need some heat, if it has any spring in it then it will pop off what ever you use
