gmrhodes13[Staff]
I was having a hard time finding any latex of rubber coating paints, I thought I would give this a try, it is a screen painting paint. Only needed to put on three thin coats and then you can heat lock the paint in a low temp oven 110 to 130 deg cent for 5-8 min. Seems to be quite strong and flexible I have trooped 6 times with them and no cracking as yet. Here's a pic of the paint Karin's hand guards Here they are painted and heat fixed in the oven. TK bondservnt[501st]
the latex method I use works without the heat. yet I'm sure this will work very very well, and cheaper than my suggestion. stramge? I don't see anyone else posting in here? Edited July 22, 2013 by TK Bondservnt 2392
TKheehaw[501st]
Thanks you two for posting on painting hand guards! Was wondering about how to do that. Will probably try the print screen paint method first.
DarSec[TK]
I just scored a jar of white screen print paint (Speedball brand) at Michael's craft store. 8 bucks but I had a 50% off coupon so only $4!!! This stuff is awesome! I'm using them on Karin's awesome handguards. Goes on thick, so only a little is needed. Three coats and it's in the oven for a bit. No cracks, super flexible, awesome white, this jar will paint a hundred pairs. Nice tip!!!
