mr0072003[501st] Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 Hi everyone. I am building my TX armor, and wanted to as the TK group what the thoughts were on cutting the back of the Shines to allow for more movement? Is the EIB or Centurion approved. Is this frowned upon on the community? I used the over lap method, but still want to add Cover strips. The problem is, do I go all the way to the top without the shines cut down, or do I go just below the top. Or Do I cut and go to cloese part of where the cut ends. I hope this makes sense. I added some pics. Quote
LadyInWhite[TK] Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) This pic is of your calf, right? The armor we can get tends to have a kind of wide "v" shape in the back, which allows for more movement. The border trim doesn't go all the way around. Well, it seems some armor types do, ATA for example, but my AP didn't. Ok so blatant error on my part. Look through some of the EI request/submission photos to see what I mean. So the long and short of it is "Yes" you can cut a bit out, just be sure to use good references to cut it well, so that you still look awesome and can still qualify. ------------ Good luck... I'm sure others will chime in! Edited December 22, 2021 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
mr0072003[501st] Posted December 31, 2012 Author Report Posted December 31, 2012 thanks Ingrid. I was looking at the 501 CRL and in the Stunt versions of the kit, there is a cut out. The hero version did not. Here is the link to the Stunt CRL. SO i fugre this should be good enought reference to go for it. Quote
