RS Prop Masters Posted June 23, 2012 Report Share Posted June 23, 2012 I just wanted to share the results of our project now we are at the end of what has been around two years of research and development. I did post these up on Facebook, but maybe not all of you have liked are page yet - http://www.facebook.com/RS.Prop.Masters feel free FB users to see what we are upto. Anyway, we are really pleased with the results. There were many issues to get over, not least the way to form this pretty nasty plastic and get a consistently good result. We also wanted to make sure we did not achieve the wide face look, we just kept pushing till we had the best replica of Simon's helmet we could get. These are no doubt the best replicas ever made and I don't think anyone could make a better helmet. They look fantastic! I got to hold an original and this has that much more solid feel about it like an original. It's the right size too. Big ! Detail is great and has all the odd bumps. The plastic is thin behind the aerators, so I might beef that up some. Very sharp details. Question: I always thought the originals got the bumps from the HDPE plastic. Where did the bumps come from.
