501st approved fibreglass armour from Argentina :)

Fiberglass armour is FAR more rigid than ABS or HIPS. Also the 501st approved is a crock. The 50st don't approve ANY armour.

The price of that armour is 3 times the price you can get a good ABS suit for.

Fine for a display piece, bit nasty to troop in.

Fiberglass is very very heavy, rigid and can easily chip and crack ( especially if the person does not know what they are doing when working with fiberglass).

Ā

Better materials to have armor made of is ABS and HIPS. Lighter weight, more forgive, and ABS and acrylic capped HIPS will not need to be painted or touched up like the fiberglass will.

Ā

Now for the price $1800 is a lot of money to spend for that suit.

Ā

Armor kits start out at around $500 and go up....

Ā

You might said, but it has the undersuit and holster and neckseal etc... But you look at this way buy the parts separate (plus you get to pick and choose)

Ā

Armor kit $500. Starting price for a good quality kit or you could look into others kits.

Neal seal $40. average price

Holster $50. average price

Undersuit $60. average price

Total: $650.

Ā

a difference of $1150.

Ā

You could do a lot of cool add ons that you will need would the money that you saved, like :

Ā

E11 (complete kit by DoopyDoos) $95

Ā

canvas belt $40 average price

Ā

TKboots $54 + S&H

Ā

Total $189

Ā

If you purchased your kit and add-ons you this way ,would save around $961 from what you would spend with the fibreglass armour from Argentina.

Ā

If it was me, I like saving money and get the best bang for my buck......

Ā

Hope this helps you. :duim:
