Need help with helmet strapping stuff

Hey everyone. I am up to the point where I need to add a hard hat strap webbing thing into my helmet, and I was hoping I could get some pointers?

I could just super glue it in, but if I put it in the wrong spot the first time...then I am boned. The problem is I cannot fot my hand in there to mark where I need to attach it. :/ Any tips/advice/pointers would be appreciated.

Or just use the star shaped foam they used on screen. It's pretty comfy. You can buy it pretty cheap from Trooperbay.

Thanks Eric. I'd rather avoid that much hassle though. I'll try some other things and see how I go though, I may have to resort to this.

You can attach it to helmet temporarily and reposition with tape and/or magnets until you get the position right, then mark and glue.

Superglue is not going to hold. maybe try Velcro? Personally, I would just use foam.

The way you have to corkscrew one of these buckets on, how well does a helmet liner work?

It is kind of impractical. Foam (like Terry said) is much more comfy and works well with the screw on style of the lid. Hardhat liners work well in FX helmets because of their hugeness.

I use foam in mine. I did have a hardhat liner, but it began to annoy me. Foam is comfy, just make sure you're not irritated by it.

I paid $10 for a T-ball helmet at Target and cut out the foam and that is what I'm using.

Thanks for the help guys. Yeah the liner is pretty hard to attach and would be very impractical. I bought a bunch of foam today, and am gonna start sculpting it soon.

I also have been unhappy with my hardhat liner in an eFx bucket John. How did you like the foam approach?

I used knee pad inserts in mine.

Foam is definitely the way to go. I used two pieces together to get a good fit, although I would personally prefer to buy one of Trooperbay's foam stars.
