EIB SIDE GAP QUESTION

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I had to add a one inch shim to each side of my AB plate on my AP kit. Does this mean I can't be accepted for EIB or Centurion? I added rivets to the knee plate before the centurion level started but thought I could order a new leg and knee plate for when I apply. I believe everything else on my armour would be a pass just not sure about the side shims.

Many thanks

Rob.

shims are fine for all levels. you are allowed a 1/2 " side gap, so either shim the 1" or snug it up a bit to gain the 1/2" .

as long as the shim matches the armor in color and material you'll be ok.

for EI the rivets are fine, but if you dont want to buy a new leg for centurion just take out the rivet and glue the sniper plate on. after it dries, fill the holes with white putty. my knee is riveted also, i think i will try to putty/paint over the rivet and hide it :P

Ahhhh got ya. Thanks Mason. When it said side gap I thought it meant even with a shim. I should be O.K then. I used 1mm ABS.

Thanks for your continued help.
