How to get a better shine?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Ok I got my AP seconds in a week ago. I started to use novus on it today and I've gotten a pretty good shin on it. However, looking at the buckets on starwarshelmets.com I noticed some of them are shinny to the max. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get it like that? Or is it also due to the type of lighting that the picture was taken in? Should I just keep polishing it over and over?

So here is my AP, all criticisms are welcome from build to shine.

Thank you!

The only real way to achieve the same shine of a screen-used Stunt helmet is with gloss spray paint.

Looking at your photos, I think you have generated as much shine as possible by polishing alone and the helmet does look great as it is.

I think the lighting in photos has a lot to do with it.

I do a wet sand with 1500 grit sandpaper, then Meguiars cut polish then some Novus polish. Heres an AP I built that I have shined Up.
