  1. "copies of the armor in case of damage as well as to help out fellow garrison members." Great ANOTHER recaster!!
  2. Mike - You can clearly see the same warpage in that pic, it doesn't look as servere as the first picture posted because its taken at a lower angle. The SFS helmets aren't bad at all. I own one, and I think its great. Most people are simply symetric freaks and get depresses when their screen accurate prop isn't so perfectly symetical. AJC - No moulds were taken from the actual original helmet besides the ears. The SFS helmet, and later HDPE helmets were the result of a 3D scan taken at Gentle Giant. Yes the HDPE moulds were taken from the SFS F/G mould, and then altered to be closer to how they were originaly. If you took the original SFS helmet apart, it would flex back and look more "normal". Its simply a side effect of using thin pastic, and the way it was assembled. Many helmets were like that, especially the ROTJ/SE versions.
  3. No problem mate. I'll be the one to put my hand up.. Bye!
  4. The SFS fibreglass helmets aren't "smashed". The original SFS was. Its not actually "smashed" its more like warped, basicly due to the way the helmet was put together. I was able to mimic this effect with an HDPE helmet kit I got off Matt. Its normal. The "MattIsDead" bloke is selling recasted POS copies he made from one of the F/G SFS helmets.
  5. Easy, its clear as black and white. If you want a Helmet or suit with 'original' pedegree, go for a TE/TE2, or a Gino. These are the ONLY people so far that have invested REAL effort, and REAL money in bringing these items to us. The custom sculpted stuff is ok aswell, because like the blokes above they acually put REAL effort in making the items. IE - TM's suits. They are perfectly fine, and happens to be the BEST custom sculpt out there. It can easily stand its ground with the above mentioned 'original cast' suits.. Even though new suits are released every so often, if you do your homework, you can tell the difference.. and know who your actually supporting.
  6. Nope, no agreements were struck what so ever. Most members here fail to care about the honor system in which this hobby is based, nor the ppl that bring them these items. Its certainly a free for all compared to the RPF. Its a shame really, it used to be a nice forum..
  7. Gino hasn't been to the archives. Matt went as an LFL contracted employee at the time. Have you not read the numerouse threads on the SDS vs. LFL case? Its all there
  8. That there is a TE1 bucket Apollo.. if you were interested to know
  9. I'm eagerly awaiting this one. The SE helmet is one I've wanted to do for a long time...
  10. FON

    ANH TK from 1976

Thats actually a ROJ suit in the archives.

Perhaps its one of the old promotional JJ suits.. the ones he made from FG. That helmet looks very similar to the JJ ANH to me.
  12. I agree. The Loakes' are about the closest match for a 'modern' made boot. There are still one or two differences to the originals though. But darn close. You have to appreciate where Paul is coming from. He has spent quite a bit of time searching for these Boots, with very little help to begin with. By starting this thread its given us quite a bit of info, and a big head start. There's certainly enough there to help us track down the real deal for our selves. Thanks
  13. I agree. Its feels much better to make the find yourself
  14. I believe Oakley sold the original ROJ parts to Matt. Oakley was the original owner of the suit.
  15. Those suits were REAL SE/Tour suits on loan from LFL
  16. I think its interesting.. I wouldn't mind seeing better shots of the helmet. Could be a descent cast of a se/tour helmet.
  17. Looks like there are quite a few ANH helmets still in the archives!
