  1. Wow damn.  I haven't been on FISD for a while and a few of my TK's said "have you seen what Kevin is working on..."  Amazing as ever Kevin.

I do have one question for FISD staff - do you guys intend to pursue making the McQ TK concept as a 501st approved costume?  Or will this be a treated as a nice addition to the FISD contributions to the costuming community.  Thanks!

    Hey - that's me!

  2. Before there was EIB, many of took the FX kit out of the box and built it up - myself included. During our builds we may se rivets to hold the shoulder straps to the chest and back plate. Although functional this is not screen accurate and not recommended. I ended up purchasing a second set of shoulder straps to make my armor screen accurate and qualify for EIB.

I have in m position my original shoulder straps pre-drilled for one rivet on either side. Glued on the bottom of the strap is a snap connected through a ABS scrap piece.

Here is my offer - DON'T DRILL your new Shoulder Strap. If you really want to go down that route, you can have mine for Free. I only ask for $2 (US domestic) to ship. So save your new whole shoulder straps for when you have time to go EIB. If you are in a hurry to build up your armor, I am happy to ship my original ones.

How are you getting down to SDCC? I am flying on Southwest, but I am still debating on how I am getting my Smitty-built E-11 blaster down there. Have you flown with your weapon props in checked baggage? Some folks are telling me to ship it to the hotel

    Hi Michelle,

When I went in '06 I had my armor driven down by a friend in the Garrison who had room in their car (and I flew). The car and crew I'm riding down with this time is pretty packed. But, we can likely bring your E-11 for you. Let me know.
