  1. If you can buy normal canvas i would be inclined to use that, unless you really need a water and fire proof belt? Mind you those trash compactors in the death star dont look too inviting I made my belt using two layers of elastic covering both sides with heavy duty canvas and it weights in alone at 300 grams or 10.5 oz. Although its light weight it is still fairly strong and durable, perfect for trooping
  2. Hi i have not heard of tarp canvas, i used a natural thick canvas for mine, the store i bought it had two choice's... thick or thin. Heres what it looks like.
  3. I am going to attatch the holster with snaps, thats what is on the belt instead of rivets. Turning my holster inside out is next on the list of things to do
  4. Hi all this is the first part of my costume that i have finished following inspiration from some tallented people i decided to have a go at making a canvas belt for my tk for that authentic look of ANH. I started it yesturday afternoon and finished lunch time today. I wanted to make a belt that was wearable aswell like Luke and Han for a bit of added coolness, you never know maybe i will make one of their costumes in the future. I just need to take my holster apart and reverse it and put my thermal detonator together and its all done. Heres a few pics...
  5. Check out the screen cap of luke putting on the trooper belt after getting out of the trash compactor, good shot of the rivets in the belt holding on the holster.
  6. The hyperdyne seems to be $145 usd (?75 quid or so) the ROM F/X about ?105 quid ( $205 usd) according to their respective websites.
  7. I have the ROM/FX and it has various settings to alter the distortion in your voice, the static bursts can be turned on/off and you can adjust the time delay and so on but it doesnt lower the tone of your voice. I think it could do with being a little louder in a busy environment so i may get an amp to beef up the volume, hope this helps you somewhat.
