  1. The "FISD" application are just accuracy awards (EIB and Centurion) which are by choice Once you have your armor build to the basic standards, you have to apply with your local garrison who will help with the 501st procedure.
  2. Vern, acutally you were pushing some into more accuracy, where you tried to remote your own (inaccurate) pipe blaster plans, even tough you knew there highly accurate plans available here on this board. Without even asking, you told his work was INACCURATE.
  3. Evilboy, I think we all know what Vern means. But some of his "facts" are not true. I have yet to see an example were some was told he's inferior because of his armor. Look at my quote a few pages earlier: "If it were'nt for those purists, prop replicator, accurazis, etc we'd still have 90ies FX armors with black buttons, bubble heads, wrong boots, hard plastic hand guards, etc...
  4. That wasn't my intention! Besides, this was the idea/opinion of my better half.
  5. Well, all the others don't see it. Maybe it's a "PHANTOM MENACE"?
  6. Rob, I must slighltly disagree with you. See,my BF worked in the movie business some time ago. Extras don't treat props and costumes very well. Eg., after a long day of shooting (16 hrs)they literally rip them of and throw them into their bin. Esp if they work on a low budget film, 6 days a week for 1-2 months. If make the math, this results in many, many troops. But you're right. You have to make it practical while retaining the look
  7. Where? IF you make a claim, be prepared to back you up. My first "witness" was Derrick. LOL Please calm down everyone.
  8. Because they all asked me in advance! I had dozens of these questions over the years!
  9. These arn't jokes. This is just to prove you wrong
  10. BACK YOUR ACCUSATIONS UP! PLEEEEEEEASE!
  11. Ouch! And you even became Deployment officer! Who would have thought?
  12. Thank you! But please, give the rephrasing a little thought!
  13. Mathias, +1 Derek, nice armor! Suits you well. But you know it isn't quite screen accurate, don't you? If you want to bring it up to specs, we're here to help!
  14. As I said above, this needs to rephrased as is not clear. A quick and easy solution is just to put painted into ( ). But yours is even better. Maybe we could my suggestions (latex rubber, etc) fit in aswell Latex is a liquid, the finished product is called rubber
  15. And where is the evidence that someone broke that rule EVER?
  16. No one is "pushed" into perfection. Who ever said that? Everyone can do what they want to. If they want to paint theirs green, so be it! But we still will tell him is is not screen accurate. So, what's your point? If you make any accusations or assumptions, PLEASE back them up
  17. Actually, rubber is a product of latex Those black rubber gloves are made of latex. There are other black gloves which are nitrile, which contain no latex. To be absolut precise, my white rubber hand (aka non-latex) guards contain no latex at all, but a high silicone content. Maybe another renaming for clarification. So my suggestion is the use of the terms latex-rubber or other (e.g. silicone) rubbers. "the game's afoot"
  18. Thanks! Now I see! We Austrians do it all wrong! Every Harold/Harald is called Harry! Oh,my!
  19. I recently learned that Prince Harry is actually called Henry. Can someone explain to me,why "Harry" is a nick name for "Henry"? I always thought is short for "Harold". (that what we use it here for) Thanks, Karin
  20. I'll look into it But I heard a similar story about macadamia nuts! My mother always told me to keep my mouth shut if I don't know anything for certain. Oh,my BF just told that "nothing can be 100%; just 95,5% plus/minus 2 standard deviations with a probabilty level of p<0,001" I don't know what it mean exactly, be he says, "Close enough" But let's not derail. This thread has some good points
  21. The red primer can be seen on the inside of the originals
  22. Both are accepted for Centurion. Infact, there are more "white rubber" Centurions. I hope this part gets "re-phrased" some day. Your question and a question about the "non textured" gloves came to me several times in the past days. IMHO, painted latex ones are preferable because of the screen accuracy; but as long hand guards are flexible and white (and have the correct details) anything should be accepted. When I started researching 4 years ago, I even experimented with white acrylic caulk! But let's see what the bosses think
  23. BTW: Don't use the bbc plans. Our member ZeroRoom hast the best templates
