  1. Only real noticable mistake I did so far, though I'm sure you guys might be able to spot others where I might have trimmed too much on other parts.

I'm going to have to bondo this lip back on and then retrim it. The armor isn't flush with the undersuit right? It has a bit of overhang to prop it up from the body yeah? Or is this microfocusing not that important in the long run.

Hey Juno I hope the Covid hasn't beaten you down and you're hard at work. Looking forward to following this build. I have a Jimmy kit coming R1TK and wanted to clarify where you got your undersuit? Thanks and hope all is well!

Hi Jeremy, sorry for such the long delay. For some reason I didn't get any notifications to the site.

I got my Undersuit from ExtremeRacing, the UK based company. https://www.extremeracing.co.uk/stormtrooper-costume.html

I second this, although I understand you’ve probably been busy with commissions.

Progress has resumed! Finally nice weather and a kick in the *** to take the armor out of the winter storage.

  3. It's not the prettiest first try, but it's mine.

Today is cutting day, trying to get as much as I can done while it isn't raining like every other day.

Cuts are very raw but the job today is to get all the fat off and then sand the excess down. That's how you're suppose to do this, right?

Also damn the helmet was a pain. I can see why they come seperated and not joined now. Tricky angles for a fat dremel.  So far I've cut the outer arm gauntlets and the helmet.

Edit: Helmet eyes, mouth vents, gauntlets, chest front+ back, stomach and pelvis front+ back are cut out

How´s the armor doing? Or are you first building the helmet?

I´d like to follow another R1 WIP.

I'd like to do the helmet first! Michigan had a ban on certain products issued due to COVID 19 so I have yet to obtain my paints and glosses to use.

I want to start, but due to COVID I am out of a job, so I've been focusing my time on alternative income with my 3d works. I also am in contact with someone who might be able to 3d print my Phase 0 darktrooper armor I modelled out, so perhaps after this is all over..... I'll have two kits i have to build!  haha

I haven't ordered from them personally, but they are a reputable vendor. I'm ordering from Head Shot Props myself for the armor. They are the only stateside vendors I know of. Jim Tripon also makes the armor.

With HeadShotProps, do not trust any date of shipping they give you. (From my experience)

The product quality is sturdy and good, but my god, the shipping delays.

I ordered a R1 TK helmet, It arrived on May 13th, 2020. I ordered it in January. The estimate was Feburary. When I asked about the helmet progress, it took around 1.5 weeks to get a response (which isn't horrible, people have lives outside this.). Every date I was told the helmet would ship was missed. Be it "2 weeks from now", "This weekend" or "on the 15th" for example. Oh, and then communication just stopped.

In the end, I didn't even think I was going to get a helmet. I was completely confused when I had a package arrive for me in May. I'm glad I got what I paid for in the end, perhaps that's the accidental business practice HSP has.

I was told the delays was due to a manufacturing problem with the new machines + install, then there was no excuses, just dates and missing dates. And then COVID-19 happened.
I like to think it was just a load of unfortunate coincidences.

Has anyone had experience with 850armorworks (found on Etsy) vendor?  Any Insight would be appreciated. I looked on this site for other vendors and only seen one that listed for RogueOne TK kits. Are there any others who are vetted? Looking for RogueOne TK kit vendors. I am starting to my research on kits, soft gear, and pricing things out. Open minded and welcome insight, wisdom, from the group. End goal is a centurion RO TK. Thank you ahead of time.

I own a 850 Armorworks kit, its approve-able. You can check my build log from my profile to see all the parts I got for my costume to be. As ImperialValour said too, he has a 850 kit and is 501st approved.

Ordered mine in late 2018, never saw it, finally canceled my order in early 2020...

Also they refused to refund me for a long while... Wouldn't do business with them again.

Hope all is well for you.

Since my last post, the armor is the last thing I'm waiting to come in.

I ordered a bucket from HSP, and then the day after, asked if the helmets were in stock. Was told yes, and they would ship in 11 days... Its been longer than 11 days.

    Jan 14 ordered
Jan 15 asked if the items in stock.
Jan 16 "This item is in stock ro ship within 10 working days please let me know of we can help any further. Joe"
Jan 29, asked for shipping info
Jan 31, asked again for shipping info, the Etsy ship deadline was on Jan 28 (No response)
Feb 8, (ask on facebook) I ask if the R1 TKs are being worked on at all, the last time a helmet was shown was Janurary 3
"The final ones should be pulled next week. Got pneumonia and had some vac machine issues . Just had to finance this mother for 14k .(image attached of huge machine)"
Feb 11 (responce on Etsy) "Hi XXXXXX,
Sorry for the delayed response. I'm a bit backed up and have had pneumonia for the last 3 days while setting up a new vac table. I didn't forget you. We'll get it shipped as soon as possible. You'll receive a tracking email when it ships. Thanks for your patience."
Feb 18, I ask what the email will be so that I don't have it accidentally sent to spam folder. (No response on Etsy. )
March 3, (Facebook) I ask for any good news.

850armorworks gave me an estimate of their armor shipping around March 13. If Headshotprops continues to ignore me, or has no shipping information at that date, I'll be highly disappointed, and will have to swallow up my 'Giving the benefit of the doubt'. On Facebook, there's been another shopper who says there's been no contact with them at all concerning their order. My goal of having armor built by July is coming closer, and the one thing I intended to do, was finish the helmet before the body comes. Perhaps I'll just have to use my Black Series helmet.

I should have taken the things I saw on the forums more seriously, concerning Headshot props. There were a handful of positive results, but the bad, is bad. Its just very hard to find R1 gear anywhere. You have HSP, and Jimmi. I chose HSP just because I would rather not deal with fiberglass, and didn't know where to contact Jimmi, as he is inactive on here.

Will they keep business going even if its after the 21st?

Their website is up and currently taking new orders as usual. They have a detailed post on the website explaining the situation. Working time has been cut and shipping delays are to be expected.

IMPORTANT UPDATE PRODUCTION /SHIPPING impact of COVID-19

Our main studio ( where we consolidate everything ) is partially open; we are able to work there a couple of days a week and we will focus on shipping then. Our transporter is back at work, however some of their people is still not back and exit customs are much slower than usual. We expect some slight delays with shipping.

We produced non stop in December and January and built up a reasonable stock allowing us to fulfill a bulk of the orders coming our way (shoes, clothes, accessories…) Unfortunately some local restrictions prevent us to resume work in our shoe making and cloth making workshop. If an order is impacted we will let you know by email.

    — NOTE—

We  do our very best to get your order out of the door as soon as possible. Fridays are Shipping Day, tracking numbers updated on Tuesdays.

Shipping starts at the end of the Wave and we strive to get most or all orders shipped between Waves. Based on the items you order and what we have in stock, it may take up to 4 weeks to make the clothing, shoes, accessories etc… to complete a particular order. We thank you for your patience.

    1. We are not responsible for customs and duty fees and/or delays,
    2. We cannot guarantee shipping dates; we do our best the ship most orders between waves,
    3. You will be issued a your tracking number. Once this email is sent your order will be marked as “completed”.

As usual should need assistance with your order you can contact Vincent via email.

So there's that. I'm unsure if you can actually purchase anything at the moment. I just tried. All the payment options via Paypal (the only option) gives a fatal error. Will try again tomorrow. Paypal isn't down, as I just made an order for my gasket earlier in the day.  Sent an email to Vincent about it.

FML the damn site just billed me three times over.

Fixed. If you get an error on the site, just give it 15 minutes. Paypal is being slow.

Would the brow trim and “s” neck trim from TrooperBay work with the Rogue One TK helmet?

I’ll be printing the Nico Henderson helmet soon is why I’m asking.

I would say yes, as that's what I'm using for my R1 TK

The wait for BBB Day is excruciating. I should be able to hit the ground running once it arrives. Here are most of the supplies/tools I've gathered, thanks to the "Supply List for Your OT TK Build" thread. I am ordering boots from Imperial when they open up again this Friday. Really terrified excited to get started! :)

Race you to the shopping cart for Imperial Boots ;)

How do you put it on? Do you use a Q-tip to do it? Or what? Also do you have the Black series helmet? Did you put it on before you put yours together or after? If you got it later while it was already put together did you take your helmet apart to put it on?

I've used anti fog ceramic spray. Just sprayed the lens and then buffed it out with a rag.. The sprays are temporary and need to be reapplied after the bond expires, which depends on the spray. In my experience, this was 4 hours. As its temporary, its sprayed, after you get your helmet assembled. Inside and out if needed.

Black series helmets weren't a thing until around 2015/2016, so these posts from 2008 would be referencing vendor helmets
