    Hi all

Thought you all might be interested in seeing my first instalment of making two DLT-19s from scrap. My main hobby is scale aircraft modelling, so I have been able to use these skills to good effect. Built mainly from PVC plumbing fittings, the breech block is plasticard over a balsa wood core. The rear sight and bipod are from Super6props.

I am going to complete one of these as an MG34 first, so I can take it to one of my model club meetings, before converting it to a DLT-19

  3. I have just tried to register on the 501st UK garrison, but when I do so I am told my user name and email is already in use. Thinking I might have already registered but forgotten about it I tried to log in only to be told the my use name and email was not registered.

So can someone here who is on that forum let the admins know so this glitch can be sorted, as I do not know how else to contact them? Much appreciated.

  4. Hello to everyone out there. Whilst not a total fanatic, I have always loved Star Wars. The impact of seeing that first film at the cinema when I was 7 will be something I will never forget. Those images of those white soliders with skull like faces  bursting through the door, will last for me forever.

What I find specifically fascinating about the films is the influence by Nazi Germany and WW2. It is everywhere, even  down to the  ammo belt around the knee and the placement of the thermal Detonator!

I have always had a penchant for owning my own TK, but having baulked at the prices, put it to the back of my mind. That is until this year when a work colleague asked me and mate to dress up as Stormies at her wedding.  Her husband to be is a very close friend and is nuts about the films so I could not say no. Anyhow, even the costumes where cheapo fancy dress items, the reaction from the guests fanned the fires within and I now own a my own suit, and have been using it to raise money for charity.

It is nearly up to 501st standard but   as a regular gym.user, a few seams have, er, popped. But has soon as those are addressed I shall apply for 501st membeship.

I have thoroughly enjoyed tinkering,  adding, and adjusting my costume and, as my first hobby is a scale modeller, I am currently building two DLT-19s from scratch  ( one to be xmas present from my mates wife).

Finally, thank you for having me
