  1. Yeah...what he said... The ab buttons are overpainted, as are the teeth. A bunch pf pretty minor stuff. Nice work!
  2. I added velcro to mine to keep it in place for trooping. Great job! I look forward to nitpicking your EIB
  3. May the 4th - 2nd of 2. The Rec Room in Toronto. All proceeds went to Make a Wish. And here are my kids! My son is the Jawa. For some reason he didn't put on his gloves...
  4. May the 4th, 1st of 2. Toronto SickKids hospital. Along with our friends from the Rebel Legion.
  5. May 2nd 2019 - TD Spring Leadership Conference in Toronto. In exchange for the armed guards, they're writing a cheque to Make a Wish. 7AM start... A warm up for the 2 troops on May 4th!
  6. I went strapping as well. It went together very quickly. Watch your symmetry and spacing. When you get there, PM me if you want and I'll send you details of mine. I had to zip-tie one side tighter because it kept popping up.
  7. I'm going to post in the CRL discussion that this should be a new requirement for Centurion
  8. Yup. That first cut is the hardest. Research, research, ask... Even after that I trimmed the top of one thigh piece by mistake. ABS paste is awesome.
  9. Are you using snaps or strapping for the inside? If you're going with strapping, you'll need more edge on the torso pieces to give you support for the bolts.
  10. Yeah just use bolts. Much easier/safer. AP's kits actually come with bolts for that part.
  11. Absolutely. Armor bite in other places is bad enough!
  12. Baking soda is a good easy abrasive in place of automotive polishes. I have also had good luck with pumice-based soaps like Gojit or Fast Orange. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Fast-Orange-0-5-gal-64-oz-Fast-Orange-25217/204802515
  13. Arrived in the mail today!
  14. Nice job! Any senior guys able to comment on the velcro on the belt drop boxes?
  15. You'll sweat off 2lbs on your first troop
  16. Welcome aboard! Get ready for the nit-picking. It's what we're good at LOL. The paint on your ab buttons ideally should not go past the rounded part of the button (i.e. nothing on the flat parts). I'd check the paint on your vocoder as well. You'll most likely need to remove some from there. It looks like pretty straight lines but should follow the actual mould lines. The bottom screw on your helmet ears should also be countersunk. I'd trim the screws in the helmet shorter. The ones on the mic tips look deadly,
  17. I use a small set of hand files for a lot of the sharp corners/details. They're easier to control than a rotary tool. Something like these: https://www.amazon.ca/Titanium-Coated-Diamond-Needle-Metal/dp/B014A17M8C/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3BAI1SKT9QFY1&keywords=micro+file+set&qid=1556202828&s=gateway&sprefix=micro+file%2Caps%2C170&sr=8-5
  18. Hi Brandon. Welcome aboard! As mentioned by Hazamel there are lots of good references on here for sourcing kits. Don't forget about your soft good as well... boots can be a hard one to get, so you may want to try ordering/sourcing them now. Have fun, read lots, and ask lots of questions.
  19. Take a good look in the gallery for all of the reference pics and browse a few of the EIB/Centurion request threads. You'll see a lot of the common "mistakes" (minor flaws) that can save you some work later. Do it right the first time! Post lots of pics and ask lots of questions. We're all here for you!
  20. April 20th 2019 - Barrie Comic Con. Another small collectors show. Lots of fun hunting for stuff and talking with LARPers, and of course smiling kids of all ages.
  21. April 13th 2019 - The Princess Ball in Toronto. Huge money raised for make a wish, and huge smiles on the faces of lots of little princesses! Rey gets more attention than Vader!
  22. Hi Jared - Yeah, lots more pictures would be great. Take a look at the list for Expert Infantry even and post those. That will give us a good idea of where you are. At a quick glance I'd say you're off to a good start!
  23. Great start! I'd say your belt is sitting a bit low - It should cover the bottom of the ab buttons. Also - the cloth looks to be a really light weave (comments from the experts?) Mic tips could use some weathering and it's hard to tell if they are white on the inside or not. You're also missing a few photos, such as the sniper knee (all 3 sides) as well as the thigh ammo pack attachment.
