  1. Hey guys.  It has been a while since I have been here.  Work has been crazy and started charity streaming with friends.  I am back at it with my ANH Stunt TK.  I am currently working on the helmet and could use some advice.  When attaching the green visor, should I just use E-6000 on the edges and around the eyes for a flush look or is there a better way?  From my research, I have seen people drill holes that match the ear screws.  I would do that but I am not confident in my alignment skills.  I do have a spare visor but my funds for additional parts has been cut to effectively zero since summer school is in session and my job has no overtime.  Any tips would greatly be appreciated.  Thanks!

  2. I would imagine that UV protective case would totally help protect it between conventions.  I did a google search about protecting signatures on plastic.  The common consensus are the following tips: 1. invest in a UV protective case. 2. don't use varnish or coating, unless you are a professional and use extreme caution.  If you use the wrong varnish, the age of each signature, different ink compounds, the climate you live in, etc will affect the lifespan. Lastly, 3. DON'T TOUCH IT!! The oils on human skin break down the inks.  Here are my sources:

  3. Kind of a noob question.  I am not confident enough to point on the blue cheek stripes.  Instead I am going to use the decal from AP until I am more confident in painting.  I want to make my armor Level 3.  Are there any guidelines in reference to how far apart the stripes have to be?  I looked at the photos and cant put my finger on the width between them.  I may seem like I am over analyzing.

Bondo is not clear or white and is brittle compared to E-6000. Bondo is used for filling cracks/seams on costumes like clones that then need to be painted over.

Oh!! Okay.  So I am better off sticking with E-6000.

Ha.  See what I did there?

  5. I know the go to adhesive is E-6000 but a friend of mine swears by "Bondo".  I was doing research but all results are geared towards metal (cars in particular).  My buddy does collision repair and he told me the best product to seal two pieces (i.e the legs and forearms of my TK) is Bondo.  Let it cure then sand it down for a seamless finish.  I was hoping to get the community's input before I do anything too crazy.

Your neck should feel a little "stiff," but you shouldn't feel like you're suffocating. You should feel fairly comfortable after a three hour troop.

Long story short, if you feel like exchanging, it means it is probably a tad too tight. Trying to exchange might be a good idea. :)

I just sent them an email with the order number asking if I can exchange for the next size up.  Fingers crossed.

I actually just laid out the entire costume since I had it in multiple places throughout my garage. Total casualties include helmet, abdominal/ kidney, competed bicep and forearm pieces, and the lens to my riot shield. It sucks that they are gone, but at the same time I’m glad they didn’t take my completed thermal detonator (that was a slave Leia to put together). The rest has been moved to a more secure location for the time being. I’m still checking Craig’s list and Facebook marketplace regularly but so far no luck.

I am assuming you filed a police report.  Was your name or your TK# marked on the helmet?

Well depends on how you want to strap it all together and your size.  It appears to be a complete strap kit but it still needs to fit your build/frame.

The strapping kit has brackets for the back and chest which is easy and great to use if you have a return edge on those pieces.

I would say my body build is borderline average to fit.  I am going to hold off until I can figure out my "plan of attack" when it comes to getting my armor together.  I am in the process of getting a new job and don't know the work schedule.

  9. It is optional.

    Optional Accessories
Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.
Oh good. I have already sunk enough money into this build. Dang. Ha ha ha
