  1. I couldnt agree more! I am all for that. I will be pushing this for L3 approval, but also want to have basic approvals in mind in this discussion. Like the references and totally agree about the live action. Something tells me if we get live action we might not see this on the pauldron though.

Personally I think the flatter appearance looks better, embroidered looks too lumpy and doesn't match the references

I see someone offering flat rubber patches on etsytoo but they look too thick

I would think vinyl would be the way to go for L3

Totally agree. which is why i would suggest that a patch for basic might be acceptable, but for higher levels it needs to be paint or a decal. but obviously yall have final call on that

If he's building from scratch you could also mention the closure is different to the ANH style, no rivets and goes under the pauldron not on top and is thin strap not rounded.

Let me send these pics to him and see what he says. if not then would not wear it for Centurion app

Post it in this thread or send PM to Andrew

There is also a grey version with chimera which may need adding.

Rebel TK CRL for reference what is required from the image. NOTE this image should really be changed as it is not the non puffy animated version (if someone has a non puffy style)

OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable):

    • Animated style only may be worn, not puffy ANH style pauldrons.

While updating the CRL should add red to the optional colors

I talked to someone in Spain that is making my Pauldron (Orange) and he said he would take the puffy out of it and instead install some type of rigid material to confirm to the CRL. If I cant get one of the other approved Rebel TKs to send it, I will submit my own once it is done to be used in the CRL. Should be within a week or 2

  5. Looks pretty straight forward and would be added as an accessory to the current Rebels TK CRL.
If they carry a different weapon to standard Rebels TK's then that would form part of wearing the pauldron.
If someone has made one of these then we will need a photo to be used in the CRL.
Just look at the pauldron images in other CRL's and that's the type of photo we will require.

Where does this photo need to get sent? There is one of the 5 approved that has one and we can get that to where it needs to go

  6. Going to go ahead and start this build thread as it will hold for the future builders if they decide to also do some research.

My kit will be from WTF and my pauldron (orange) has been ordered from Etsy from a store called "ArtneoES". I spoke with the owner about the requirements for the Pauldron as stated in the CRL and he assured me that they could do them as stated and would not be "puffy". My big push right now is for the Detachment staff to get behind me in adding the insignia that is seen on the pauldron on the episodes that show on Thrawn's ship. I am thinking the insignia will be a vinyl print and would sit more flush than a stitch or a patch would, and would flow better with the "animated" feel of the costume. I will be more than happy to work with and in conjunction with any Detachment team member to get this pushed to be added. Below shows what I am talking about. Will also update with info on other items as they come in. Boots will most likely be chealsea boots but will continue to look for more accurate boots as I would like to take this TK to Centurion. Any help or advice or imput would be appreciated.

  7. Wow cant believe there arent any post in this section, and honestly not sure this is where they even go, but had a question based of the Rebels TK CRL

The pauldron is allowed as an add on accessory item, which is great, but there is not greater defined detail on it or stand alone for what I am looking to do. Is there a way to get this insignia added to the CRL, or produce a new (additional) crl for the TKs that are on Thrawn's ship, that have this decal on the Pauldron? As it stands, if I add this decal and then submit my costume, it will be denied as the decal is not part of the CRL. any help here would be greatly appreciated!

  8. Funny I was super involved with this a while back and now here I am 5 years later looking to do this build. Was wondering, as I just looked at the CRL, why the emblem/decal isnt apart of the CRL for the Pauldron, and why the Rebels TK commander isnt a stand alone CRL. @Daetrin is that something we can look into? maybe not such a big deal as there are only 5 Rebels TK in the entire Legion, but just something I am curious about.

  9. Robert! Welcome to the white space for space white! lol. If i might suggest, if you have not already, start a build thread (WIP) over in that area of the forum and ask questions all you can there. sometimes these "Welcome" Sections get neglected as we are trying to keep up with helping members in the WIP side of things. Definitely in the right place for help. we look forward to your progress!

Hello, everyone. Who I am and what brought me to the FISD: I have a ROTK kit I bought pre-pandemic from 850 Armor Works. My original intent was to hang out and support my FIRST Robotics Team at their events (I’m the Principal of a high school). The team is Red Storm 509 and their mascot is a stormtrooper. Once I had the kit, I started looking here on the FISD and found an entire galaxy of enthusiasts! Meanwhile, being in education during the pandemic was a whole new ballgame and the kit was reboxed and put away. Now that my life is back to normal, I’m going to start the build so I figured I’d better join the FISD.

Welcome! Let me be one to tell you as i know you dont hear it enough, we appreciate you for what you do! I am a SBLE Police Officer and the school admin take it on the chin every single day. Star Wars is definitely my get away from all the BS that surrounds the education life, Those kids are definitely the push that helps us through the day, but man can those parents be something else. Anyways, Welcome to the incredible journey that is armor building. You are definitely in good hands here. If you have any questions, any at all, please dont be hesitant.
