  1. So from the looks of that helmet the small area I filed out is white
  2. I got a bit file happy while doing the teeth and did too many. I accidentally filed out the small hole which I think is supposed to stay in tact. Is this area supposed to be white or gray? I’m thinking I can back fill it with some putty and paint it. Just wondering what color is needs to be. Thanks in advance. I feel like I need to take everyone out for a beer when I get this whole thing done.
  3. Thanks guys. I see the flaws which I know aren’t huge and I’m trying to fix them. I do look back at the times my family and I have seen everyone at shows and conventions and I can’t recall anyone’s armor being flawed but again I was not looking just too interested in joining. Seeing the flaws in the movie screen shots helps as well. Definitely finishing this path I started and hopefully it passes right away, can’t wait to troop.
  4. Was looking at some pics of it. Looks a lot like dry wall mud. I’m not very good at that, but I’d have to do more research. For now basic will have to do. I’m not completely satisfied with the way this is turning out so I might be getting by with basic and waiting a year or so and getting another set to start over.
  5. Guess I’m going for basic and then on a diet....
  6. Due to work and time constraints I’m at a stand still for a few days with the legs want to make sure I’ve got time to do it right. Started working on the chest-cod-back-kidney-posterior. There is a few inches between my kidney and ab. Anyone know if there is a rule of how far apart they can be? I know screen accurate is closer together because everyone was thinner. Wish Lucas would have had some bigger troopers.
  7. Didn’t even think about the shoes. Gonna try and get it glued next week so I’ll have to resize with the boots to make sure it fits. Thanks for all the help. Keep watching the movie to see how they look but I get all caught up in the damn movie I forget to look.
  8. Yea I think the tops of the thighs went too tight, hopefully that cane be fixed with the wider strip. Thanks for the pics, I do see the room you have which makes me feel a bit better about trying to get them tighter. Did you glue front and back of the calf? Was looking at it and it barely fits over my foot.
  9. Ok I’m driving myself crazy with these legs. Got my daughter to take a pic. I’m open for suggestions. I know it’s not glued and it’s a horrible tape job but it doesn’t look right to me.
  10. That’s what I would like to do with a cone shape. Unfortunately I’ve got big legs and bad cutting skills. Lol
  11. No worries. I appreciate the input and the video was very informative answers a few questions about mobility I had. As for final cutting did one thigh already should I focus on that shin with it? Do them both together?
  12. I was afraid to use duct tape because I didn’t want residue on the plastic. I could try and taper the knee a bit, not sure if that would cause the top to flare out more. Also what’s the mobility in one of these? I can walk a bit but I’m not getting my knees up too high.
  13. Ok this is the best I could do. It’s not perfectly taped but you’ll see the back is butted up and the front has a bit of a bigger gap with a makeshift taped on cover strip. Ultimately I will split the difference between front and back
  14. I’m having trouble getting the tape to hold them together but it would make my coverstrips an inch wide. I don’t think that’s too bad. I’ll try and get a pic.
  15. Thanks. Wasn’t feeling well today so I took the time to do some odds and ends. Started getting the chest and ab armor together and then did some trimming on a thigh. Thighs and calves are difficult to figure out which is which but after a lot of reading I think I’ve got it. Then I ended up cutting them too thin. Gonna widen them with a slightly bigger cover strip and hopefully that works unless someone else has ideas.
  16. One forearm drying the other waiting for clamps, only have 1 set. E6000 works nicely. From what I’ve read 48 hours is usually a good dry time. Question... do the straps holding the forearm and bicep together go on the outside, inside, under, or top of the elbow or it doesn’t matter? I assumed outside cause it won’t bunch up but I didn’t really see it anywhere.
  17. Just checked Michaels online and they have a few types in stock by me. One is just regular industrial strength and the other is industrial strength white. What color is the original? I feel white would be best in case of overflow. Also it’s like 3oz a tube. Any thoughts on how much I’ll go through? I’d rather do one trip then multiple.
  18. I’ll pick up some before I start the next section. The stuff that came with the armor is “Weld On 771 ABS”
  19. Gonna move on to the forearms and then the shoulders and get the arms out of the way. Not sure if I’m gonna go chest down after that or legs up. As for glue I’m using a glue that came with the armor. Doesn’t say it’s e6000, but it dries in like a half hour, still trying to get some excess off and I picked up some Novus polish so I’m gonna polish the area when I’m done and hope for the best. I’ve also been sanding the edges, how perfect do they need to be? If you get a good look, and I say this only cause I’m critical of myself but they aren’t perfect. I’m sanding but I don’t want to go crazy.
  20. Thanks guys, I’ll give it a shot, feel better about it. Harbinger took me like an hour and half to fit and trim 1 bicep, all I could think about was ruining it and wasting a ton of money. 2nd bicep about a half hour. Glued them up and that was that for the day. Don’t want to rush it cause that’s how I make mistakes.
  21. Biceps done and drying, still want to do some light sanding around the edges just didn’t have what I needed. little oops when starting and had some glue over flow on the backs of both arms. None of it is bad, any ideas for removal?
  22. Thinking about doing the Centurion level. Anyone know of a site I can order the necessary things to do this? Just figure it’s easier to get everything in 1 box then multiple purchases.
  23. Great info appreciate it all. Just feel I’m gonna glue wrong and not be able to fix it. Armor is AM version 2.0. From what I’ve seen it’s easier then it looks. I’m hoping it all just fits and I don’t have to trim much but that might be wishful thinking. Right now it’s all still packed. I’m gonna wait until I have a good day designated to just unpack it and take it all in. Patience is my problem, I lack it. I’m gonna do my best though since there is such an investment involved.
