  1. Hi everyone,

First off I am sorry that I am not on here very much.

I have been trying to stay at home as much as possible to help stop the spread of COVID-19. When I do go shopping I do not just wear a mask, I wear a helmet! I have been doing this since the state of Pennsylvania has asked for people to wear masks. My main goal was to bring some cheer to everyone else and to not look like a cowboy or surgeon ;p

Has anyone else worn their helmet out and about? I would be shocked if I was the only one.

Keep safe and hope all of you are doing well.

Thanks for the info. I'm heading to Orlando this week and was going to stop in to check out prices and information on a FOTK if possible. Someone who recently bought a Vader helmet there told me if you have Disney Chase Visa card you can save another 10%. He originally waited 9 months from Anovos, cancelled it, went to Disney, re-ordered through them and got it in 8 days.

yea the Disney visa gets you only 10% off. You cannot combined the discounts. The max discount is 20%. I believe the FOTK is $1800 but it comes with everything, except blasters.

I would also say that RS is pretty easy to work with if you need a replacement part, etc. and even if the price were par, I echo everyone else on RS being the way to go.  Not knocking the ANOVOS guys, but unless it was much less money, you just get more with RS.

I have no preference of who to buy from. The original intent of these thread was to help people get a better deal on ANOVOS through Disney. I still consider myself a NOOB at all of this. I would consider RS but they do not have first order stuff. At the same time I do not have a budget for a kit anyways lol!

  4. Does anyone know of any good and publicly shared 3D files for the F-11D and/or the SE-44C? I want to print my own and make adjustments for modifications before I print. But I also believe in not reinventing the wheel so I thought I would ask around before starting from scratch.

    Bit of a status update:

Removed the Anovos visor easily, but I'm having some difficulty getting the visor from VaderPaint to fit in the helmet. Seems a little oversized for the Anovos bucket. Looking into possibly having an optic shop cleaning the original visor to remove the warp effect. Would still prefer the VaderPaint one, as it is much easier to look through, but it's always good to have a backup. I'm also looking into a chin strap that loops through the spots where the hard hat liner was originally. Padding itself is quite easy, but I don't want to make any long term decisions until I can get the visor issue sorted.

I bought a VaderPaint visor too and just finished trimming it yesterday to fit (sort of.) Yea it goes a lot higher than it should so I am still debating on if I want to cut off the excess or not. I also noticed that there is still a gap along parts of the brow, which is why the original has that little over hang. The original visor is junk IMO. Mine broke into 2 pieces when I tried to remove it. I glued it back together so I could use it as reference material. I will try to add my updates on it here since we are in the same situation.

During production of this kit our quality control team discovered that many pieces did not meet our high quality standards...

I am curious as to what their definition of high quality of standards are, because the lens on the FO helmet are very low quality, but the rest of the helmet seems fine so far. Anyways, I hope this works out in your favor. Waiting can be a pain, especially when you spend a lot of money on something.

When I was there two years ago I noticed them and they are indeed anovos. You fill out an order form that goes to anovos and you still have to wait for shipping. Atleast when I was there they didn't have anything on hand.

Yes you still have to wait for it to ship but it does not go by ANOVOS shipping calendar. Disney seems to have priority. So if it is in stock, it will be shipped. I got my helmet within a week or 2.

Are these just the kits or assembled sets?

I do not know for sure. I know what I was looking at is definitely an armor kit with soft parts included and the helmet is probably pre-assembled.

Did you happen to ask about pricing? some are suggesting you can purchase cheaper through the Disney store than directly thought Anovos ;)

yes is cheap than buying direct. The complete FO kit on the site is $2k+. At Disney it's $1800. If you are DVC or an Annual Passholder you get 20% off. So that takes it to about $1440. I believe the classic is $1100 because I remember my nephew looking at it.

    Thanks for the feedback DaygoErm!

My Aerator from Vaderpainter and helmet electronics from ukswrath came in today.

Hopefully your Aerator swap goes well. I have been debating about doing that myself but I am not sure of the best way to remove it since it is glued on.

The box is looking awesome! Are you going to put a a First Order logo on it?

I want to explore self-contained helmet electronics.  I already have Troopertalk and an off-brand "aker" unit that works fine.   I want to see if I can put it all in the helmet and make it work.

    Looking for helmet speaker recommendations.

I do not have any recommendations as of yet, since I am still learning. I am curious to know is where are you wanting on placing them, since that can affect audio quality as well?

I know adafruit has Enclosed speakers (mono and stereo) that are 1.2" x 2.8" x .7" a speaker.

  11. Last night I managed to pop out the cruddy lens out of my ANOVOS First Order Helmet (ended up coming out in 2 pieces.) SirRossage gave me a great recommendation for using a Face Shield Replacement. My concern with using it is that some of the reviews on Amazon said it scratches easily and can be very dark, which is great for hiding eyes.

Reading here some more, I noticed that some of you bought lens from Vadarpainter. They look great. What I would like to know from those that have bought it, how good can you see out of them?

The TK listed there is $1800.  And you have to ask an cast member for more info.

That is correct and if I recall correctly that includes everything (hard and soft) for a complete set with no extras (meaning blasters, pauldrons, etc.)

Do you know if they sell it at Disney Land? If so, which store?
