Great additions to a blaster, that already was very beautiful before! :duim:

If possible, I would recommend to rotate the trigger group retaining pin from position FREE to LOCK. The FREE position was used for disassembling this group.

Doh! Great pro tip! Thanks man.

Just a quick note: the Heavy version of the F-11D (with the tactical stock) isn't supposed to be mountable to the thigh rig. In fact the originals don't even have the bracket for that purpose.

Nonetheless, I can't deny how cool the two pictures you posted are!

You're right. I've never seen those blasters mounted on their thighs, but we thought it was fun to take some photos to demonstrate its (probably) intended purpose.

  3. Since my last post, I've been adding genuine parts to my E-11 and I thought I share the progress here.

    Hi Tennant,

    I hope you are well.

I'm gutted to see that your image links have gone. I can no longer drool over your amazing blaster. :-(

    Best wishes,

    Dan

Hi Dan! I've been well thank you. I hope you've been well too.

    I fixed the images! Hope they are useful for new builders out there. As an added bonus, here's how it looks like attached to the thigh armor;

Hi Tennant - thank you. Your's was part of the inspiration I mentioned above. (...and yes, it's possible that your's and Tino's completed blasters 'may' have featured on my desktop background at some point)... :)

I think a pipe build with similar components to your will be my next project. Your finished blaster is exceptional. I'm especially taken with your Snaggletooth Hengstler. If I'm honest, I think my Doopy's counter is the weak link of my blaster and might be due an upgrade (already). ;-)

Thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated. :-)

    Dan

I am very flattered Dan. Thank you.

Dennis' replica counters are highly recommended. I got a real one from him soon after I completed my build and it is very hard to tell the replica apart from the real one.

  6. This build is still alive!!!

I acquired a genuine Hengstler Counter 400 from Dennis aka @TK-50101 Blue Snaggletooth and it is absolutely gorgeous! So much so I contemplated for a really long time before deciding to paint it.

I used toothpaste to create the chipped paint effect and scuffed it up with steelwool. Again I left the cadmium coating intact since I really like that feature.

I thought I'd share some of my research as I look to create that vertical slit piece at the front end of the folding stock. Ducati has the housing for it described as a 'Front Pivot Bushi' in his pinned build thread entitled: Ducati's Build.  Interesting to compare how different builders have gone to recreate this and that vertical piece of the folding stock. For a stock that doesn't unfold, like mine, I will see to mimic as closely as possible that vertical piece as shown in the FISD E-11 Blaster Reference.

Here's a photo of an actual Sterling SMG, so it looks like Ducati and T-jay got it spot on.

*Update: mine is definitely wrong so I'm going to correct it. Kudos to you for highlighting this bit of detail Jesse.

Interesting find, I will see to incorporate this on my build, thanks for sharing - as others have said, your build has been a great ride, very quality build, excellent work emoji106.png

Thanks brother. I'm figuring things out as I go along and I'm grateful for all the guidance I have received.

Amazing work on the blaster. Robert's parts really make a huge difference. I recently broke out my old DVH kit and the amount of cleanup and fixing is almost unthinkable. Might have to abandon those parts and start the long expensive process to buy Robert's parts.

     Love this build. Great work!!!!!

Thanks Brian! Indeed I reviewed my cost breakdown for this build last night and almost popped a vessel. Not for the faint hearted for sure.
