I have just ordered a Sandtrooper commission from RS Propmasters in the UK for delivery to Australia, I am thinking about cancelling the E11 & DLT-19 as I highly doubt that they will clear Border Security, Customs Australia have told me that they will be seized upon entry, and that I will need to contact the Police to obtain a permit in order to get them through, and that is not guaranteed.

Had anyone else had to deal with this in Australia?

UPDATE (21/10/2017): I have been in contact with Customs Australia who have told me that the DLT-19 and E-11 will be seized upon entry into the country as they fall under prohibited items, they have instructed me to contact my state Police in order to secure a permit to have the items released, 2 days after emailing VicPol I am yet to receive a reply.

Tonight I have emailed RS Props in order to cancel the DLT-19 and the E-11 from the order, but they have assured me that they have successfully imported them to Australia before when shipping them with an Import Form, in light of this, I have asked them to continue the order as planned and will keep this post updated for anyone wishing to place an order of their own.

    Hey Jordan,

Care to share what happened to your DLT19 & E11 shipping from RS? Did it go through?

    Thanks mate

You are correct. Could we make these two pieces and make them able to connect? Of course. Would we? No. The reason is above but I will continue to explain. These are considered by some to be "expensive" blasters. When you compare the cost of a rubber blaster (ie. Praetorian, HFX, etc) to a resin blaster, you will find that there is a obvious cost difference. The entire reason behind rubber blasters is structure and durability. Making pieces that separate will, guaranteed, eventually become loose and destroy the structure of the prop.

The second reason which is probably more of a concern to everyone else...Cost. These are not held together with pvc tubing or anything like that where the plastic is made to press fit together. I'm not sure how the Doppy blaster is assembled and disassembled but in our case, the main armature that provides the lightweight structure is a length of fiberglass rod. The additional work and fasteners required to do this properly would make this blaster completely cost prohibitive for everyone except a very few.

    Structure, durability and quality...

Hello, i do want it as a whole... but a lot of us who live outside the US (who have problems with shipment) will definitely prefer this as a detachable pieces, simple: cost & shipping approval. I really hope you guys will consider producing them in 2 separate pieces (or maybe as an option).

  3. Application for the coveted 501st submitted last weekend by my local outpost! Some behind the scenes shots of the process. I thank my fellow legionnaires for the helps they showered at me in the process. Can't wait to get approved tbh. Weathered my armor with Pandatrooper's oily & dirty technique. Aiming for SWAT, it was weathered to emulate captain cantina's TD.

  4. Greetings everyone from Jakarta, Indonesia. I am an avid Star Wars fan. Started out with my purchase of a Hasbro TK helmet last year and obviously that wasn't enough. That NEED to own an armor set just engulfed me. I ordered my TD set thru RS after several careful considerations on the eve of this new year. (They did their best to answer my questions despite being on holiday).

One thing though, preferably as a newbie i wanted that new shiny white armor looking TK set. So, i naively asked the local garrison if it's OK to have the armor set not weathered while being approved as a TD. Obviously it's not gonna happen as it is written in the holy CRL : "thou shalt have the armor weathered".

I really want to join the 501st as i think the legion has a noble cause in doing charities. Already am in touch with my local garrison and they were friendly enough to contact me. I am looking forward to hear good feedbacks and inputs. I will post more once i have my hands on my armor.
