1. By outsourcing the project to someone else, my concern is that the build quality isn't guaranteed to be up to specs with your own work Ken.
2. Looks like they added a D ring to the left side below the barrel, and added a flashlight to barrel the magwell side. I'm guessing it's to keep the weapon holster-able despite not having the holster screws attached? The flashlight doesn't seem too bulky, but I feel that it takes away from the clean, streamlined nature of the First Order design theme.
3. Heston's a great guy to order from, and this deal is a helluva lot cheaper than what I paid for. The lights are all functional, and it's a great F-11D overall. I highly recommend it!
4. I second this. Could you please update the Photobucket links? I'm very interested and willing to commit once I have more information and pictures of what to expect.
5. Phenomenal work as always Jim! I'm really excited to see your prototype and final draft
6. I'm converting a velcro FOTK build into a magnetic one. I'm thinking about using rectangular magnets for the chest, back, and shins since I don't have the tools to drill holes for circular magnets.

In terms of long-term wear & tear, is there a significant difference between the strength of rectangular vs circular holes in ABS?

I'm thinking that, in both situations, the magnets will put stress on the seams of whatever hole they're in from moving etc.

If anyone has any advice or experience on the matter i'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
7. Thanks Mike! I appreciate your advice. The seller is actually 1in taller than me and has slightly different height-weight proportions, but thankfully it's not too big of a mismatch. Regardless of the good and bad feelings from trying to fit & adapt the armor, I've thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience and hope to have my own set approved in the future.
8. Hi, I bought this armor before I knew about FISD and the eBay Armor page, so I'm curious what everyone thinks in terms of hindsight: http://www.ebay.com/...cvip=true&rt=nc Before buying, I asked him a few questions: Where did you get the armor? - He said it was the 3rd gen prototype offered to 501st members to promote TFA Can you prove its authenticity? - His evidence were pictures of the helmet that showed a black liner which was only offered by Anovos as well as a picture of the original Anovos Box Are you a member of the 501st? - He provided a link to his 501st profile where "the main photo on my listing is what they used to make my profile picture on the member page for this suit." How would I replace the gaskets? - He complained about how you had to use Weir's glue for the Anovos gaskets, and recommended Imperial Gaskets for replacements Thoughts?
9. Thank you gentleman. I've been looking at Darman's neck seals for awhile and they're definitely appealing. Seeing as how I've still got awhile before my setup is ready, I'll probably replace it with one of his.
10. It was given to me by a member of the 501st who sold his armor.
11. My apologies. I should've thought of that in the first place. The neckseal is made of a mesh/cloth fabric. It's 20in in circumference with a connecting zipper, whereas my neck size is 15.5in.
12. I discovered that the neck seal I was given is a few inches too big for my neck. It's a zipper enclosure so I can't exactly adjust it. Should I replace the neck seal altogether? Or should I put velcro on both ends to make it adjustable? I appreciate any advice you guys can offer.
13. Thanks! I really hope so. Once it comes in I'll post pictures in the New Members section.
14. Hi Everyone, I'm new here and I've been skimming these forums for the last few weeks. I only recently found out I didn't have to be a 501st member to join. I found this guy on ebay when looking at TFA armor: ebay Before buying, I asked him a few questions: Where did you get the armor? - He said it was the 3rd gen prototype offered to 501st members to promote TFA Can you prove its authenticity? - His evidence were pictures of the helmet that showed a black liner which was only offered by Anovos as well as a picture of the original Anovos Box Are you a member of the 501st? - He provided a link to his 501st profile where "the main photo on my listing is what they used to make my profile picture on the member page for this suit." How would I replace the gaskets? - He complained about how you had to use Weir's glue for the Anovos gaskets, and recommended Imperial Gaskets for replacements The majority of opinions regarding eBay from this thread are mostly negative, and I myself am always wary of eBay thanks to paranoia. Think I got screwed over?
