Some great reasons here. Keep em coming troopers

Ross does a absolutely fantastic kit. I have the 1.5mm abs and I have mine upto centurion level. I also bought my soft parts from Ross as well, the belt and neck seal. The amount of comments I get with regards to the quality of my kit whilst trooping is great and I'll always reccomend Ross's kit and tutorials.

I carry a box with me that has poppers, snaps, Velcro, batteries, white gaffer tape, rivets, glue everything really that I used to build my kit I carry a little something of it with me.
Hope this helps.

this is my right shin and is probably the worst of the glue on the kit
Have you tried freezing them and picking the glue off?

I've elaborated on this in my electronics threads, long story short battery chargers emit noisy electricity that is very difficult or cost effective to filter out and the Velleman PCB definitely can't filter it out. I've tried $200 worth of suppressors available on the market to no avail. I've even had those extremely knowledgeable with PCB design offer to help, still no luck. Until something new comes out we're kind of stuck.
I use an anker powercore 10000 with my vellerman audio assist and it works perfectly until I turn my fans on. I have them all wired up on the same harness. If the audio assist is the only thing on it works great. Soon as I turn a fan on feedback and humming galore.

Good to know as I was actually trying to do the same thing. I just assumed the hum I was getting was from the fans and not the actual power pack

I think the third fan makes a difference as when they are blowing it's nice and cold in there. I think the idea is that it blows some hot air out of the lid but dunno if it actually has any effect. Next time I'll just keep the front 2 on and see what it's like.

Since I've finished my build and that I was at a loose end so I've pimped out my lid by lining it and adding a fan kit and hearing assist.
Just got my kit box left to pimp and wait for my Anker power pack for my lid

Does it work well? What sort of battery life does it give? I've heard a uni-directional mic is best, to cut down on feedback?
Marc's probably the man to speak to about that. I haven't got round to setting my lid up yet.

I've just been looking at wireless headsets. Ordered a TRamp system but they no longer have wireless headsets included. There seem to be loads of generic types and brands. Very confusing as to which one might work best!
I've bought the same as Marc and I'm sure the TRamp system used the same as in Marc's pic . About 20 off eBay including post.

Welcome back Ian. Yea you're right you want about a finger space just so you have enough movement. Builds looking good so far. If you need any help or get stuck give me a shout. Me and Marc (ctid) above have both done our RWA kits to centurion level.

Congrats Kevin and welcome to the centurion rank!

If your mic isn't stereo you may need to get a stereo adapter to plug it into the splitter

Hey CJ how did you go about fixing the aluminium plate into your bucket?
Thanks
-
You will need to shim the gap between your abs and kidney plate with some abs to reduce the gap.
I'm not totally sure how you do it as I never had to but I'm sure someone will be along soon with some pointers.
Also if you post your pics in the request eib thread they will give you pointers on what is needed to achieve level 2 (expert infantry) and level 3 (centurion).
Hope this helps.
