    It also appears that above we were going to try and let bygones be bygones. I believe Tony is asking here because he was removed and blocked from said Facebook group so he feels this is the only place he can ask you to join the group. I am also asking to be able to join as well since I as removed and blocked. I asked Kevin about it and he is unsure why I was removed and I should ask you. 


    I’m not really interested in discussing the FB group here.

    As someone who laboured hard to build a stormtrooper kit and join the 501st I earned the right to be a part of this detachment. I’m not breaking any rules or code of conduct with my activity within this forum. I post helpful information and support members in their build threads.

    As Admin of the external group I have been very clear about remaining independent. We don’t answer to any organisation or it’s members. We don’t have to. There are no reciprocal agreements.

    I hate playing tit for tat but if you’re asking me about blocked memberships perhaps Tony could take a moment to explain why he blocked me from the Anovos First Order Build Group last year. Seems like anyone can do it!

    If you want to remove me from the detachment please go ahead, and provide me and the wider membership with the reason for doing so.

    Thanks for posting Kevin, though I feel you shouldn’t feel like you have to defend yourself.

    I am aware of the issues the staff at FISD have with the FB group and these have been made aired previously on these pages.

    My inbox - both personal and FISD - is also filled with PMs from various displeased staffers.

    All I can say is the concerns are unwarranted as this post from March 2019 demonstrates:

    There’s some serious real world stuff going on right now. Frankly this all seems so petty and pointless.

    This is also supposedly a research thread so let’s get back to business or shut it down.

    For transparency, we've had recent complaints from individual/s that are members of the FB group in question that it continues to actively discourage members from promoting or referring others to the FISD, a 501st legion detachment.  This could be perceived as a form of hostility.
     
    The FISD command staff does not discourage its membership from visiting other social media outlets so it expects the same respect in return  
     


    This is simply not the case. Just a few days ago a relatively new member of the group asked for build advice. I directed them to FISD.317a477ed923ca45617a10f32856c0e6.plist

In addition, many members of the group are on 501st leadership teams. Passion for the 501st is strong, as is support for any costuming group members wish to subscribe to.

     

    The photo gallery referred to has been shared with other detachment teams and none have raised the concerns listed here.

     

    In light of the fears expressed and to save any further confusion I have removed access to the galleries.
