1. Tagged for reference... I'll be attempting side shims like this, myself.
2. Where do you get the nylon? Do you mean nylon webbing, or sheet nylon?
3. Nice trick! If I have any issues with shin piece movement, I'll definitely give this a try.
4. Ha! I proposed using a hidden piece of the existing belt cloth to repair the upper holes when the issue first blew up. I'm glad my idea has been validated!

Of course, I've purchased one of Rob's replacement belts anyway, so I won't be doing this, personally.

GREAT update, Tony.
5. Actually, having now received my HyperFirm B-Grade... why do you need weathering? Mine came pre-weathered... didn't yours?
6. Nice work! Curious, how sturdy are the doopy-doo kits? Are parts likely to crack from normal use (or the occasional drop!), or are they relatively tough?
7. Thanks, all! I decided to save money (this time out) get the cheaper Dremel. If I manage to burn through it, I'll get the better-made Proxxon to replace it. (sorry for the delay, for some reason I didn't auto-follow my own thread so I didn't see updates in my subscriptions list)
8. I hear you. I'm in the same boat. I like the IDEA of snaps, but I've heard it's a lot of work, and quite tedious (not difficult, but repetitive and tedious)... and you may need assistance getting suited up, which does not appeal to me. (if that's correct) OTOH, I've been nervous about the thin plastic and those brackets from the first time I saw them (even before knowing how much thinner the Anovos armor is compared to others). The plates that snaps are glued in with definitely distribute the stress on a larger surface area, making it far less likely to tear than two little screw holes. Also, I'm tall, and have been told the brackets make for easier vertical adjustments (with elastic for motion). I should start a thread on this, actually, seeking opinions... after I search a bit.
9. You might want to check the real screen-used armor shot Tony posted in this post, earlier: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/35086-ukswraths-anovos-tk-build/page-13#entry462833
10. Lots of people didn't get the poster (myself included). Per Anovos tech support, however, they said: "Every customer who ordered the Original Trilogy Stormtrooper armor kit should be getting a poster. If yours did not, please email support@anovos.com with the subject line "TK KIT ISSUE" and include the order number as well as the item affected (part number if possible). Thank you!" Can everyone please remember this and spread the word? I sent the email and received a reply that everyone is supposed to get the poster, and they will send one to me in 4-6 weeks.
11. This is a fantastic build. I shall definitely be attempting this on my own. I have a HyperFirm on the way, but one can never have too many options! I think the one thing I would change is sanding down the other rails flatter, as well, instead of only the top rail. I have a belt sander so it should go quickly! (just have to be careful not to go TOO quickly, eep!)
12. Awesome! Just use E6000 when reassembling so this isn't an issue in the future.
13. I ordered towards the end of the day on the last day, May 4, and I got mine several days ago now, well before others who ordered earlier. I don't think when you ordered has much to do with when you get your box. They're shipping is just all over the map. That said, I think international shipments have the biggest delay. My impression is most if not all of the Tier 1 orders are all shipped at this point, in the US, and other countries are finally getting their BBBs as well now. I think they're shipping well ahead of schedule. (except for the soft goods, which no one has seen yet)
14. Hero ears and bubble lenses are easy. Completely re-sculpting the teeth and frown, however, is a major task.
15. Question for experienced builders: Dremel vs. Proxxon. Pros and cons of each? (Other than price. I know the Proxxon costs more. I can afford it. But is it worth it?) Dremel: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002L3RUW0/ Proxxon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001FWXEO6/
16. What's wrong with the left shin? I haven't seen anyone mention that. The main thing people are concerned about is the belt and holster connection, thus far. At least, for basic certification in the 501st. There are a few other things that need to be changed for level 3/Centurion, but even they are not large changes. The issue with the belt is the connection to the holster. It's really soft material instead of the usual rigid belt, so they used 4 Chicago screws to connect the holster. Per the 501st guidelines, you can only have 2 screws connecting, for ANH TK Stunt. (TK Hero has 4 screws, but a slightly different helmet that would be VERY difficult to change this one into). Again, I'm talking about basic certification. There are a few other changes needed for level 3, but even that is not too significant. Make or buy a proper belt (under $40) and you should be all set! (It may be possible to patch the two extra holes in the belt and only use two, and then even the existing belt (floppy or not) should pass basic cert)
17. Wow. Impressive what that little toy can end up looking like! Maybe I'll spruce mine up a bit as soon as I'm done playing with armor...
18. Fair enough, although I did state up front that I had paraphrased and edited for clarity, just for the record. But yeah, nobody's panicking... I'm celebrating! Seems like the one piece that seems most likely to cause issues is also the one piece that lots of people are gonna replace anyway, since, let's be real, the stock Anovos belt kinda sucks, whether it can be made just barely good enough or not. And since that limp noodle of a belt can be replaced for under $40 for a killer, professionally made one, that's a win, in my book. Considering the absurdly low price for these, my one true concern at this point is re longevity, due to the thinner plastic that seems prone to tearing. But it's likely to be a little while before we can come to any real conclusions on that front. Many thanks to your excellent work in your build thread. Now, get back to it! I'm nearly caught up with you! LOL
19. While things could change as his build is not 100% done, ukswrath has listed the changes needed for the Anovos armor in his build thread (quote edited for clarity and relevance): He later notes that the stock Anovos belt will not fly. (probably) Offhand, it's looking more and more like the Anovos kit is 99% good to go out of the box (assuming it's put together to spec) with the exception of the belt FOR BASIC APPROVAL of ANH Stunt TK. The only changes necessary for Centurion TK (Stunt) are: 1) Belt (of course) (replacement should use 2 connectors instead of 4) 2) Black elastic for the chest to back connection must be switched out for white 3) ABS hand guards must will be switched out for Latex style (also Anovos cloth gloves should be swapped for rubber) Unless I've missed something (and I've been hitting these threads pretty hard) that's about it, for necessary changes.
20. Yes, their fulfillment center is in Carson. (L.A. area)
21. My B grade is en route, so I'm definitely following this with interest.
22. My Disney blaster is on its way, so tagged for interest!

Curious what the go-to paint is for the main body? Did you just use fine sandpaper for the initial weathering?
