  1. For making holes in nylon straps, i tend to use a lighter and a needle Not highly professional, but highly affordable and gets the job done.
  2. I agree. I have yet to find the perfect community platform for the current times though. Forums tend to be slow and cumbersome, while FB groups (and the likes, whatsapp, ect...) seem to be spammy and less persistent, but easy and fast to use. It is also less work required to share files, like pictures. I would like to see how something like https://www.discourse.org/could work for a community like this.
  3. Isn't it basically the same that ukswrath has used in his legendary build thread? http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/31877-ukswraths-fotk-build-thread-tk-10116/page-17#entry446483
  4. I liked fb groups at first but i am getting slowly back to enjoy a forum format more. I am an a lot of groups and most of the time it gets too spammy with "fire and forget" posts whereas a forum has a kind of "use the search function" attitude. So this is my vote for more info in the forum instead of fb.
  5. Hope this works out for you, but many people are waiting for their F11Ds atm. What i did is buy myself a dysfunctional airsoft glock and 3d print the missing parts from the model that has been posted here. So now I have a weapon to pose with until my F11D blaster arrives. Also you could just take your E11, the kids won't notice
  6. Nice! Looking forward to your build. As you already have bought multiple items for your build i was wondering if you have considered waiting for the standard kit, which will not include many items that you already have (helmet, boots, ...)
  7. Don't even try this. It is something i cannot recommend Customs are not dumb and they won't take it as a joke.
  8. Guessed something like that, still, you could have taken a screenshot too Your gaskets look nice. Thinking of ordering some in the future.
  9. Is the photo taken from the house a photo taken with a camera off a monitor that is displaying it via google maps or something? you can see it is taken off a monitor and that a google service has been used (google watermark can be seen). Not doubting anything said here is true or something, but that seems a weird choice, is all.
  10. Thanks but i meant how tight are you going to build chest and back to the abs?
  11. Just bringing this up again, because it might have been overlooked, and i am really interested in your opinion
  12. I don't know much about this issue, but this seems like a very cynical standpoint.
  13. Whats the middle one for? I see 2 shoulders, 2 bizeps, 2 knees, and... ?
  14. How tight are planning to fix the chest and back plate to the abs. What i mean is, will you still be able to move your upper body so that chest and abs can move separatly (like seen in some scenes in the movie)? or will they be so tight together, that it will basically be one big block over your upper body down to your stomach. I hope i phrased that question clear enough. Reason why i ask is, i have been trying to not have it quite that tight, to be able to move a bit better, but that gave me problems with bizeps and chest rubbing real hard.
  15. Yeah i have the same problem (bizeps rubbing chest) but when you look at official photos and some tk submissions you will see that most if not all of them are standing with the arms every so slightly bend
  16. Yup, could use one too. Hard to spot those far away enemies without. Consider this a bump up.
  17. I would have said that it looks like some loose fiberglass that comes up after paint dries the first time (just resand) but as i know you already have sanded and primed and painted this, must be something different. I have those parts painted as well and have not observed this.
  18. I have now searched for this exact text in the group and no results came up. So either this is from a different fb group (anovos maybe?) or somewhere else. Also i would like to add that the active builders, who share their builds in the fb group, also do so here on the white armor forums, most notable this very thread and also evins and dynamic1's, which have been, combined with ukswraths legendary tfa tk thread, a major source of info on this build. The fb group serves as a way to get the fast answers on questions (with a laser-sharp focus on jimmis armor only) rather than sharing detailed build info.
  19. I double that. I am in the group. and everybody can request to join and talk about jimmis armor there. I have never read or heard of such an offer.
  20. I feel you. Its the reason i have been holding off of painting for a week now. Weather sucks right for painting now, always rainy and/or cold here. Gesendet von iPad mit Tapatalk
  21. I am using regular suspenders. Works.
  22. Or get a modeller and 3d print it maybe... or just cut it out and try your best
