Any updates on this?
I have everything done other than the color of the boots & gloves. Also, I cannot afford the cape yet…so I am on hold for a while.

Awesome. Let me know where you find boots that match the armor paint. I used Cardinal Red paint, but could not find boots to match the color.

I’m going to reach out to the LMO team and see if they can give any input. If they don’t see any issues proceeding, I’m going to go full steam ahead on Cpt Cardinal, if there is still an issue with boots, or whatever, just going to do a TFA FOTK. I would really love to do this character, but I bought this armor to troop in, and not just display. Or I might contact the Rebel Legion and see what they say since he does have a redemption story.

If it's just the boots the CRL guide allows references from figures so really it shouldn't be an issue and I would think the LMO's would allow standard FOTK boots in red
An action figure or statue may be used as supplemental reference, but cannot not be the sole reference
For anyone following this Shawn [mention=25198]CrookKnight[/mention] hasn't updated his build thread since June so no idea how far he has gotten in regards to CRL photos or indeed if he's finished his build.
The only thing I have left to do is the cape. The other issue is which helmet? I used the TFA helmet from the book and since the timing works out. However, the action figure that shows the red boots has the TLJ helmet. So we need to decide which one…
Once I have enough funds for the cape and can afford to get boots made to match the color I can finish. If someone else wants to complete a build and create a CRL, please go for it. I just have a lot going on, including commissions for many others.

I didn't see a definite NO, the LMO's requested a different helmet so there may still be a chance but [mention=20699]Sly11[/mention] would be able to shed more light to this
I do have both the TFA and TLJ versions of the helmet. I would just have to paint the TLJ version.

Yeah, I just found Shawn's build post and it looks like it died a horrible death in June. :-( that is pretty disappointing.

I started a build, but stopped since I was told a CRL was not possible. If the powers to be decide we can move forward, I will finish.

I am back on this now. The armor I had received from MIMIC was too rigid and cracked....of course after I painted it red. I have new armor coming from KB and will be able to complete once I receive.
I will still need the cape, red boots, and red gloves....as well as the helmet confirmed (TFA or TLJ). I stand by TFA since that falls in the timeline of the book and he originated prior to Phasma joining the First Order.

It is pretty large. The accuracy of the ab plate is a concern, as well as the TD is completely wrong, the ammo belt needs replacing, and the legs are cut weird in the back. The customer wants me to build it to meet 501st basic approval standards.

Has anyone heard of Tupperware TK armor? I am commissioned to build this for someone and have some concerns about the accuracy of the armor. Plus it seems to be really big.

LMO's have stated it needs to be TFA. Also Toys are only used as a basic reference, this character has a book that places it in a time frame. Who knows what the next LMO's will want or change, it seems to change yearly so at this stage this costume is being built based on discussions had and the book detail and original images.
The black series Cardinal toy is a lazy effort to simply use the latest molds they had of the standard trooper simply done in red plastic, but it is interesting that they produced the galaxies edge Black series helmet as TLJ
I guess I better get this thing finished and approved.

Any more updates? Have you heard any direction on where the red should be on the gloves? The action figure just has red on the top and side of the first finger and thumb where as FOTK has the palm included. Also, did you ever get direction on the cape?
Got direction on the cape. Can now just afford to get it. As for the gloves and boots, I am just going to have to paint them...cannot match the paint very well and it is cost prohibitive.

Here are my thoughts on the helmet. Per the book, Captain Cardinal existed prior to Phasma. Phasma’s original helmet what TFA. His helmet was nothing but a red version of the TFA TKs. Picture in the book is TFA...therefore helmet is TFA. He was dead...presumably, by the time TLJ came about.

Got more done. Still have to finish 1 bicep, TD, paint the belt pieces, and other misc pieces. Just about have enough money to order the cape. As for the boots and gloves, I might just have to paint them for now. I am having trouble finding someone who can get this done to the color I need and timely.

Yes. Had to take a short break but I’m back at it. I’ll post pictures this week. All armor should be painted by then.

Got some more painted this weekend and was able to assemble almost all of the upper pieces. I am going to need to figure out how to keep this scratching easily. I will take Glen up on the advice of putting the foam pieces under the yoke to abs so it does not scratch so easily. Since these are fiberglass, it does not give as much. If this keeps happening, I might need to go with the ABS yoke and abs.
I am ordering the boots and gloves for Giovanni.
Cape will be from Geeky Pink, once I get clarification on the border (silver or no border).
Biceps will be next, I have some rework to do on the seams first (need the etch in the lines better and fix my overlap issue).
