Hi guys

I have been commissioned to build a Shocktrooper which is a first for me so be kind.

I am obviously using my ROTJ armour and helmet as a base.

The armour is assembled and I have painted various parts using a Citadel Red spray paint. I am making this a battleworn weathered version so it's dirty and bashed. Just how I love my armour to look.

The weathering has darkened the red somewhat due to the various acrylic washes and weathering I have done. I've yet to finish with a satin lacquer to give it a slight shine.

Not started the helmet yet and a few more bits to do on the armour.

I know the chest line is wrong in these pics but that has now been rectified to 1.5" above the centre indentation.

I have included some pics taken in different light as the indoor ones do look quite dark. But it's nice and red.

Also some of the pics have a red accent on the forearms but that's now been removed.
constructive critique welcome.
Thanks for looking.

Can use it anyway you like.

Get some Micromesh. It's a cloth sandpaper you can get 1500, 2400, 4000, 8000 &12000 grits. It's a lot easier to rid the surface scratches than polish alone. You can polish it after.

Just checking you took off the protective plastic wrap from the face of the armour?
Looks like it was still present on the last pic front of the forearm part....

Get this stuff. It doesn't bleed. You can thank me after.
Not sure why it's not posting the image but click the link and you'll see it.

Hi guys.......
Please move if this is not the correct place to post this..... wasn't sure which section to start the thread....
Well......... After many years in the making.... Actually after many years of getting my back side into gear and many months of research and development I am pleased to show off the new CFO ANH/ESB Hovi Mic tip project we have been working on.
I was lucky enough to have someone approach me to purchase one of my ROTJ Helmets who is a 3D modeller and has worked on designing parts for Mercedes, Lexus, BMW etc. He is very into to new and improved scanning and modelling tech....
Thanks Olivier!!
After sending him reference material consisting of a set of my mic tips and lots of photos plus his own research we finally came up with what we think is the most accurate Hovi replica done to date..... I am not knocking anyone else's attempt, just my opinion..
Make your own mind up......
Now these are not in production yet as we are looking into getting some tooling made and injection moulding of the parts... Just as the originals were done.....
I have had a number of Stereolithographic prints done,( a high res printing method ) and the parts go together beautifully. The screens I had cut just click into place without glue and the nipple sits in a small recess and it all screws together at it should.
Here are some pics of how we got there.......
First some pics of the mic tips I believe Gino posted some time back of an original dismantled set of mic tips..
And the com link which also incorporates a mic tip...
now onto 3D rendering....
Oliviers keen eye noticed that on the original mic tips there were traces of were they had been cut off a tree.... Telling us that these were indeed injection moulded...
And the first prints.....
High resolution prints:
Stay tuned for more to come..........

No reason at all.
Maybe blue is more common in the us but you can use any colour you like. I like green. Lol

I'm disappointed that I have to put the helmet on by turning it sideways until it's around my head. I may buy a larger helmet from another manufacturer; which would be best?
This is my first time building armor.
All good helmets are to be put on this way. It's accurate.

Yes, they are down half way down the trooper isle, you cannot miss them
Sorry, could not resist
Try your armour supplier for a replacement.

Superglue basically hates water. You could soak it in hot water.Someone mentioned that if you froze a superglued joint you can crack it apart, although I cannot personally attest to this.
I don't think Loctite Superglue remover eats abs but some superglue remover is pretty much just acetone which will.
