  1. Thanks for the info everyone! I think im gonna go with Joseph's recommendation, great price.
  2. Hey all - Im possibly looking to make the change from canvas to leather ammo pouches for more authenticity. Any recommendations on where to grab them? If possible id like to find a shoulder pouch that still keeps the smaller pouch attached to it. Thanks!!
  3. I know it sounds lame, but I dont have snaps yet (dont hurt me ) Just using the velcro of the belt has held up for some troops but this the last thing I need to do.
  4. Thanks for the kind words! And usually not as I have someone else help me with it. I tried velcroing it myself as best I could but it wasnt taught lol Will have to pick up some Novus 1, thanks for the tip! Now I really feel like Im on Jedha :) :)
  5. First off I would like to say I am sorry about the crudity of the photo. I was in a rush to get my armor on to get a picture which is why I am sans pack. I used charcoal pastels that I shaved with a razor blade and then used a brush to apply the filings. Wipes off easily with a little 409 which is great. I will have to take some up close photos tomorrow for better detail as the phone didnt pick up alot of it. Feed back is appreciated, thank you!
  6. Thanks for the quick reply Tony. I haven't made any modifications to my pack as I followed the guidelines as best I could as well as looking at reference of many approved packs that you all have made. Was just curious about some packs with mods now.
  7. Just a question Is this from now on moving forward or does this apply retroactively to packs already made having to follow the guideline as well?
  8. They are definitely in the movie. I saw them briefly the second viewing and then saw them fully the third viewing. They are seen in two spots - The Ring of Kafrene and on Jedha. I will post a picture of where they were. Its sad because there was over 46 shots that were shown in the trailers but not in the movie, this being one of them as can be seen here - https://vimeo.com/196155136
  9. This was explained a little bit in the Star Wars Archaeology Panel back at Celebration this year as can be seen here
  10. Thank you all for the kind words! Joseph I used your pictures and Charles (Templar) as reference for my build and you were also a HUGE inspiration, so thank you again! So all the pieces that are on top of the project boxes and large radio box are all acrylic that were cut from a laser cutter and then painted. I took a bunch of measurements and had someone I met (local prop builder) who owned a laser cutter to cut me the pieces. With a little trial and error we got pieces that looked pretty close and matched the sizes needed. He still has the files and would be glad to cut more if anyone is interested, and as long as the project boxes are the same size they will fit perfectly. For my ammo pouches I used snaps (per Josephs recommendation and pictures) to secure it to the front strap. I also decided to dye these instead of spray paint them. Went to Walmart and got some RIT black dye and let them soak in super hot water for about 2 hours and then washed them and let them dry. I filled them with black foam tube from Home Depot which I wrapped in black electrical tape so they would keep the form of the pouches and also helps keep them very light. All the info on here really helped me out a bunch. Any more questions just let me know!
  11. Awesome I was thinking charcoal powder but wasnt sure how it would hold up, will give it a shot. Thanks Randy!
