  1. Joseph used webbing here, I personally would recommend elastic for some flexibility. For elastic add an extra inch at end and then fold that back to double it over for extra strength.
  2. A badly set snap will fail on you pretty fast in general. If during setting they become missaligned then it was not set well.
  3. Not overly good for your situation but mine stay in the box in the changing room. Safest place for them. However in your situation I would give them to the spotter, and make sure they are aware of my situation. If you need them in a hurry, begin in TK armour is going to slow you down a lot and having someone who can just be ready if needed is a smart move. Even if you administer the epipen yourself, not having to find it in the armour is going to speed things up.
  4. Sad thing is when they do make stuff it's usually pretty decent. From what I've seen they did some of the best First Order stuff and most of their other gear has been very nice (if pricey). I don't know what I want to happen as I was keeping an eye on the new FO kits with the idea of maybe getting in on wave 2. But with the price increases and "shipping to be decided" in the range of a few $100 I'm starting to think I just won't bother and put that money into something like the Shoretrooper I semi started and have a handful of parts inc a casting from a screen used handguard.
  5. The end cap clip should only engage when the cap is pushed in. When the spring is pushing it back and into position the pin in the clip should NOT be engaged and will be clear. How you have it looks about right but double check some reference. If you have it engaged when the spring is pushing it away, like I do as I only realised after I'd painted it, when you push the cap in to turn it it will rub on the U section and remove the paint. Also it's not how the real ones where.
  6. I keep meaning to do something about this but I need to round up some funds for it. FWIW I thought the counter was pretty good after some clean up, it locked to my genuine part at least. And I already offer replacement cylinders (though I might re do them)
  7. This is great news. Lets hope it keeps up!
  8. Yes, but they come on a backing that applies them all at once. You peel off the paper leaving the decal on the backer, apply the decal and then carefully peel back the backing.
  9. If you’re using a decal you just apply it in the correct place. You won’t need to space the bars.
  10. Awesome. I'm just starting to look at making some of my own softgoods for some costumes and this looks like a great project to start with.
  11. Ikea Detolf, or an Ikea Kallax with a glass door cupboard, just don't add the shelf. Double check the size though.
  12. You've done a great job on that! I'd love to see more on how you made it?
  13. Double check the cling film won't pull up the ink first! Try find a similar white shiny ABS scrap and write on it in blue sharpie Give it time to dry and then wrap it and leave it for a couple of weeks (ie much worse than what will actually happen).
  14. Whilst recasting is "A Bad Thing"™ there's also a lot of grey area. If you are literally going to pour some latex into a plastic guard you already have? I see no issue personally. It's for you and you're not selling it or making them for others. Even if you do that for you and and gave a pair to 1 friend, probably not the end of the world but at that point your well on your way to recasting in a way that would be a problem. I know some people see recasting as a black/white issue but I see it as a much more complex issue in general, and generally look at it pragmatically.
  15. That should be done now.
  16. Seems they work over http but not https, and the links to them are all the later. Looks like its a certificate issue at the server (tapatalks, not ours). edit: a quick google of some of the cert details seems to show that it's indeed a certificate issue with tapatalk meaning they cannot serve the images securely at the moment.
  17. If it was me I'd drill out the hole in the selector and then either drill for a small grub screw or use a "squish" method to get a very snug fit on the post with out using glue.
  18. Bear in mind that anything featuring any logo from any 501st unit will need to be cleared as a merchandising item by the appropriate unit commander. Eg if it has a dune sea logo on it it will need to be okayed by the dune sea CO. Failure to comply with this is not wise. However there’s nothing stopping you adding e siting Merch items, such as patches, to other clothing items.
  19. What your proposing is also known as recasting. In general this is frowned upon, though if it's genuinely for personal use then it's not really that big a deal. Trouble is that 1-2 kits for you often becomes more for your friends and so on. As Glen has said vacuum forming also quite a costly endeavour but something many have done before so with some reading around you can get a lot of help. Though there is an amount of art to it.
  20. The rear should use an "inner" drop box, not a flat piece. The CRLs are a living document so change occasionally, where that image is now 6 years old!
  21. For what it's worth I can't think of a single kit that comes with a blaster. Have a look through the blaster section but it's hard to recommend much as I don't know what Singaores replica weapons laws are like. Your best bet would be to get in contact with your local garrison who will know who's best for your needs. http://www.501st.com/members/displayUnits.php#garrisons
  22. Love the stand, would love access to a cutter like that. The DD mag is about the only part that's complete junk IMO. Shame the gazmosis is NLA, but with a cutter and the plans you should be able to come up with something!
  23. That looks much more like it, but I'd still check with my GML.
  24. I suspect they would be if you filled the holes at the front, best bet it to ask your GML. But even if they are clearable they're not brilliant. However being as your German you should be able to do much better, lots of people use eBay Germany now to find approvable boots! There's also a couple of people making reproduction boots but they're not cheap.
  25. Most armour makers would be able to supply you with one. The colour match won’t be perfect but so long as you get ABS not capped you should be close enough.
