As many of you may now be aware, yesterday evening justjoseph63 tendered his resignation as detachment leader to the FISD staff.
The Legion COG team was then notified of this, who today accepted this resignation and have now begun to take the appropriate actions as defined by the Operations Protocols.
What does this mean for the detachment?
The OP provides for 2 options:
- The XO may step up and assume the DL position, subject to a confidence vote by the detachment membership.
- Should the XO not be willing, and emergency election will be held.
As XO I have informed the LCOG team that I am willing to assume the DL role. Details of the confidence vote can be found in this detachment members only post:
At this time I would like to request you honour Josephs request for privacy in this matter. This was not a decision that he came to lightly. I am sure you will all join me in wishing Joseph the best in what must be difficult times.

Anycubic ABS-like Resin Pro2
Just got some of this in black for my build and have so far been very impressed. I tried to snap off the front sight pin and couldn’t with my hands.

Kind of amazed at how little support you are needing!
This is making me want a bigger resin printer.

Welcome to the FISD.
I'd recommend you check out the requirements for the EIB and Centurion programs, if you aim for then from the start it makes it far easier to pass.

Looking at that suit I think it's more intended for the Rogue One/Anthology TKs. Those suits did have that style of ribbing.

Starwars.com only seems to have the 1st 2 seasons.
Wookiepedia has them as "Imperial armored commando" https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Imperial_armored_commando

Looking like you are making some good progress. I would echo glen though and make sure you are checking the CRL so there are no issues or heart ache.

Small amount of movement, only a test but promising.
I thought that having a movable hinge on the front grip could result in a lot of stress on the threads that may eventually just strip out of the blaster. To fix this I have added some heat set inserts.
This gives me some nice metal threads that can't wear out. Similar to how I have added space for nylocs in the body for the "holster" bolts. In hindsight I wish I had used inserts here as well. If I have to reprint I probably will do.
I also added them to the magazine mount. I have a power switch mounted here so ease of access is important, and so is a secure fix.
These are easy to add. I just need a hole the right size added the the 3D file, I have values setup for this now. Once printed I simply drop in an insert which has a "nose" to locate it, and then use a special tip on a soldering iron set to 210C to slowly push them home.
Dead simple.
Like all projects as I near completion on them I look back and think of all the things I would do differently if I started over and adding these more widely would be one such change.
I have some electronics parts on order, so hopefully my next update will be on that front. I also have some printer updates happening which I am hoping will release the flow on parts I need to complete the build.
Then it's "just" paint

QuoteApproved means that the costume has passed review by a GML, and active Detachment membership means that you have logged in to the Detachment forum for that costume at LEAST once a year. Some Detachments go by the Legion term year (Feb-Jan), while others go by the Calendar year (Jan-Dec). This must be done for every Detachment you have an approved costume.
I'll need to find out if that ship has sailed, or if this login will count.

I’m now shown as expired as my detachment to FISD but am an UKG Capt of the Gaurd.
how can I get this updated - is it down to my GML? Cheers
Hi Rob,
When was the last time you logged into the forum before today?

So... why did I go from a full member yesterday to 'expired' today as the 'voting' hasn't started yet???
Hi Jervis,
You are currently marked as 501st TK here, are you referring to the Legion status?
There are certain processes that get run in the run up to the elections, and this would include expiring membership where appropriate.
I don't have access to the full data, but I would expect this is what has triggered this status change. My first guess was when was the last time you logged into the forum before today?

They look like the ones from Assasin Graphics, who also do stickers for us.
This is the link to stickers but the instructions will get you to the right place.

I can’t think why not. Just make sure you follow the rules when posting, they are posted in the forum.

I was just looking at the hengstler plug and thought it was a real on until I saw an earlier post with the pins missing

That is huge! Any indication of weight?
How did you print the flat parts like the hengstler cover? I just printed mine flat to the bed and they have warped quite a lot.
Looking like this will be a great build.
