  1. Albin continues to make Legion merch without LFL C present and without consultation I would wager.
Is the loop hole 501st Squad?  I think one day it will catch up with him.
The other question is, does he even provide full transparent details to Legion for auditing etc.
Being the founder should not exclude him from what is put apon any other Legion member that makes/sells merch that bares 501st markings.
Technically not Legion merch, more of "personal" merch from Albin, so really no need to follow all these rules.

  2. Are you actually building the Mudtrooper?

    https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TX_-_Mudtrooper

If so, (and even if your focus is the Army Trooper) you should check out the SpecOps forum, home of both the Mudtrooper and Imperial Army Trooper. The folks there will be able to provide you with more info and accurate vendor recommendations.

FISD (where you are at) is the home of the clean Stormtroopers! There are many other "detachments" that are home to the different costumes.

  3. Awesome to see another trooper wanting to build for Centurion right off the gate! Not a deployment officer by any means (deployment officers = people who evaluate your build for EIB/Centurion), some answers to get you started.

Are the hand plates made of rubber or silicone? Or are they hard plastic for Centurion?

I've only seen the hard plastic ones since they're the same as Snowtrooper hand plates.

What is a “S” neck? Btw don’t google that.

Now I REALLY want to Google it! But here's a nice picture of an "S" neck from one of the ESB Centurion builds - https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/48157-tk-29413-requesting-esb-centurion-status-afp-449/ (scroll down to "S-trim"). It's just the rubber thingy that runs along the opening of the helmet/

The white elastic that holds down the shoulder pieces, that is attached to the larger white elastic of the chest and back over the shoulder. Yes? How wide is the shoulder white elastic?

Err ... mine was 1/8th of an inch, it's pretty thin. Might need someone else to jump in here.

Bicep below or tucked in the shoulder piece for centurion?

I think this is tucked in. Please check the recent Centurion apps. This is more of a dressing issue usually.

Do the ear piece rank colors specific to the button? Can someone show me a side picture of centurion for both ears please?

Not sure what this means ...

May I put feet stirrups in the shin guards to help keep them down on the boot?

As long as it's not visible you should be able to do whatever you want. Some folks use velcro to hold their shins to the boots, though once you get dressed this tend not to be an issue. (gravity)

May I put black mesh behind the frown in lieu of the typical silver mesh to help conceal my face?

Should check w/ your local GML (people who approve your basic costume). This isn't specified in the CRL, so maybe one of the DOs can help out. Also, I am #TeamNoMesh - I find wearing the black balaclava underneath hides the face anyway.

Will installing the UKsWrath Hovi iComm tips invalidate the helmet for centurion?

Can you link a photo of the hovi tips for folks to see?

The CRL states “AM v1” chest and back to replace for more screen accuracy. Can someone explain this? And second part of this question.. will the RSPro Commission built pieces meet that criteria?

No need to worry about this line - AM is one of the armor makers ... and since you are asking about RS, likely not something you need to worry about.

  4. Ok thats interesting thanks. But as TFA had a totally different trooper design, how could it be that the R1 took bits from TFA...?
Are there any links to further info about the R1 trooper, im curious how they actually built/produced them. You would have thought take armour from LFA, 3d scan it, then injection moulded, I can't imagine they would have been vac formed...but thats just speculation!
This thread from earlier this year was super enlightening for me - I too focus on the OT troopers mainly, so the discussion / analysis here was fascinating

  5. Welcome, Robert! As others have said these forums are the best place to get started.

If you are on Facebook, we have a group for those looking to connect in Texas - when we can gather safely again I'm sure we'll have some in person armor building parties so you can see the armor in person. https://www.facebook.com/groups/296336407050926/?ref=share

Feel free to PM me with any questions! I'm close by in Allen. We have a very active group here in North Texas.

    Good luck w the build!

  6. I’ve read a lot about sizing through different vendors. I am 6’ and about 205 lbs. From what I’ve read, it seems that I shouldn’t have an issue. Fingers crossed.

Can always ping RS and they'll let you know!
  7. Go for whatever you like best! There is no difference when it comes to trooping.

The differences between ANH and ESB are super subtle, esp for the regular person looking in, so sometimes in a sea of TKs I would switch into my ESB so I can pick out myself in photos :D. I get excited when I see ESBs when trooping.

Hm, I suppose for official LFL castings there might be specific requirements, but for most garrisons that's few and far in between, I wouldn't worry about that.

  8. 2020-01-26: LSWO presents More than Star Wars: The Music of John Williams

The local symphony had a performance where they played music by John Williams. This was pretty fun. We hung out at the lobby while people lined up to check out the concert. Lots of kids getting bussed in!

    2020-02-01: Pop Culture Art Con

Second year hanging out with Mr. Christopher Clark! Another great troop. One of my favorite recurring troops - engaged audience, awesome host.

2020-02-10: Scottish Rite Amputee Ski trip send off

Had a great time supporting this event. Scottish Rite does an event each year with American Airlines where they sent these teen amputees off to a ski trip. A few of us showed up bright and early at the airport to get our armor through TSA (what a major pain in the butt). It was all worth it though, in the end! Lots of happy faces and we even made the local news!
