  1. EXCELLENT post, Tim! Just finished up my blaster, and getting tired of yelling "PEW PEW". And, it's annoying the dog, (although this addition may drive him over the edge). Looking forward to your review!
  2. You are correct, Fizilburt... My humble apologies to the Mouse!
  3. Hi all.. Just finished my E-11 build, thanks to all the fantastic posts on here, but got to thinking... is there an actual "blueprint" of a "correct" ANH E-11? I have used a ton of different ideas from many posts, and I realize that not everyone has the same time, and/or capabilities to do it canon, (I know there were at least 3 different versions). As a newb, I found it rather difficult to get exact measurements for things, i.e. how far back from the magazine do you place the Hengstler counter, how high should the counter be in comparison to the scope, looped wires or not, exact measurements for the placement of the scope on the rail, etc. I have looked at literally hundreds of photos, and had to guesstimate on a lot of things. I realize that there are a LOT of variables, and not everyone will be going for Centurion status, but perhaps some of the experts could get together and come up with a standard for exact measurements. Please, please, PLEASE don't ban me from the FISD for bringing this up, but I think it would really help my fellow newbs. With much respect to you all, and many thanks, Joseph
  4. Hi! Does anyone know of a source to get the correct shoulder strap elastic? (The ones that hold down the "free floating" back part). Getting my armor soon and this is one of the last things I need for my build. THANKS! Joseph
  5. I am thinking that these poor souls have absolutely no clue, and simply get paid 8 bucks an hour to "put on a costume" that who knows how many other people have worn. I mean, geez, even as a newb I can see that it fits like cheap ebay armor! Disney needs to step it up, otherwise they will be put to shame during Star Wars weekends!
  6. Hi, Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all those who have taken the time to post threads and photos of their E-11 builds, ( Dark CMF, BULLDOG44, just to name a couple), and to everyone who answered all of my "newb" questions. As of tomorrow, (when the final coat of paint dries), and after 26 hours of blood, sweat, and tears, I will be in possession of one awesome blaster, and one step closer to getting my TK number. Next is the armor... be prepared to be bombarded! Again, I appreciate all your help, and hopefully I can help out someone else who has questions at this point, or at least steer them in the right direction. All the best, Joseph
  7. Thanks for the replies! I am now glued up, and ready for my final coats of paint tomorrow!! YAYYYY!
  8. Hi again! I was hoping someone could take a few minutes and post TOP VIEW photo of exactly where the power cylinder/mount is supposed to be located on the mag. I have poured over a LOT of photos, but none I can find have the top view I need. After logging over 23 hours on this build, I am down to the last few steps, and want to get it as near to perfect as I can. Tanks VERY much! Joseph
  9. Yes, Doopydoos is in the UK, but I had ordered a Hasbro upgrade kit from them a few months before, and it took only 9 days! I must say that I am VERY happy with the full kit. Apparently they have done some upgrades, and I have only had to do a few small gap fills. The only thing that really bothered me was their failure to answer emails. Otherwise, very pleased!
  10. Hi! I am looking for a source that sells ANH Hero grappling hooks. Metal, plastic, either one. I have the GH box on the way, but am having a CRAZY hard time making the actual hooks. I had a machine shop look at the design, and they wanted $450.00 to do them. (Seriously). The rest I have complete. Any help would be great!!! Thanks! Joseph
  11. Care Bears armed with E-11s. Sounds like a dangerous combination to me.
  12. Hi all... Just a quick note for all those who order from Doopydoos... Be patient! I was more than a little miffed when after 28 days my order had not yet arrived, so I contacted Paypal to open a dispute. (They don't provide tracking numbers). I had sent them several emails after 20 days asking to find out the status, but received no replies. Guess what happened.. the very next day is was on my front door step! I guess what I am saying is to hurry up and wait, but in the meantime, follow the GREAT posts/tutorials on here, and get everything ready to go. You will be glad you did! Best of luck on your build! Joseph
  13. Hi! Well, still waiting on my AM 2.0 armor, and the last thing I need is paint... I have read the threads, and wanted to make sure these colors are the correct, up to date ones for my upcoming build, (I will be using Testor's paint): Black- 1147, Gray, 1138, and "French" blue 2715 for the tube stripes. I have the satin finish for the vocoder. Any help would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks again, Joseph
  14. Got my TK style boots today from Imperial, and could not be happier! Fast, secure shipping with a tracking #, and great communication. (THANKS, Francois)! It only took 9 days to get here from China, and yet my Doopydoos E-11 kit was shipped 26 days ago from the UK and has STILL not arrived. Guess I will hurry up and wait some more!
  15. Haven't had real panther in quite a while... The taste always reminded me of something between bald eagle and manatee.
  16. I will, Tim! But, it's great to see that there are people like Ian and yourself who are sticklers for detail out there... It's always nice to learn something new!
  17. I appreciate all the info! I realize that I am "chomping at the bit", but I have completed all the "extras", (power cylinders, realistic Hengstler counter, wires, special paint, spring, scope lenses, etc.). I emailed them 5 days ago, and have heard nothing back... If it doesn't get here soon, I'm going to..... wait some more. haha
  18. So the general consensus is satin. So be it! Thanks SO much for all the information!!!!
  19. Hi! Can someone enlighten me on the correct sheen of paint for a vocoder? I have seen both flat and gloss, and want to get it right the first time, as masking it off is will be a pain, (but a labor of love). Thanks! Joseph
  20. Thanks for all the info! I will give it another week, and go from there...
  21. Perfect, and a GREAT idea! I never realized they were quite that small. Many thanks!
  22. Hi! I ordered my grappling hook box and needed supplies, but in the meantime I would like to start on the hook. (A big thanks to gmrhodes13 for the tutorial)! Does anyone have templates, or at least basic measurements for the parts? Thanks for any and all info.!
