That looks awesome- congrats! Great build!

Good call everyone- yep the tube stripe fail. I even double checked ref pics for the first one and was so proud of myself I got over confident on the rt.......
1st coat only on the ears, but good catch too. Getting the outline and stripe today. Spycee sent me some sticker tips Mark gave him and Mark sent me a video link. 2nd go round should have em looking like a champ- thanks everyone!
Looks like a had my first glitch for this mission.
It was getting late Andrew, I sure was thinking about hitting you up, appreciate the offer!
I woke up early and started on the shims for the kidney and separated the butt plate. So after gluing these, it looks like I abut another ABS to the kidney, then meld the gap with the ABS paste and sand.
-
Saw Spycee with some good advice about shims for the sides and found some posts on the subject. Looks like we will have some ABS paste to make!

As I was going to bed and putting the mask away I saw I made my first mistake already. #$^@#$^@#%$!#@$
Anyone else notice?

The brown box arrived today! Time to add to the 501 collection with an AP trimmed kit. I had been getting ready with a completed blaster, along with getting trooperbay paint, lens, s trim, mic tips, I painted some shoes, got an amp, neck seal and snaps from some forum members, just got the order in on a vaderdave garter, so it was great to get started!
Got the helmet close to being done; no inside padding yet and still need some 2nd layers of paint and the cleanup of the edges. The stickers were a nightmare! I tried a few times but kept getting bubbles and wrinkles. Hand painting all of these areas is the first upgrade on my list.
I did a quick dry run on the ab and kidney plate. There is an almost 2 inch gap between them; I would have to lose about 15 lbs to get them to meet. Is this a big deal at all to have this gap? I took a pic of the spacing.
It's going to be a fun next couple of months!

I'm 5 10 185 and am getting my AP kit today! I'm worried about the abdomen and kidney plate meeting up. I will shoot you an update tonight!

Great pics- will be looking for you both at the next con!

It looks great so far! Sorry no answers from me just watching and learning. Excited while waiting on my kit to ship!

Thanks again everyone; found some thinner wire, re-sanded, used flat black and did some light weathering. Sprayed some clear coat on the handle, might do another coat or two to shine it up a bit more. Great call by the group; no comparison, the flat looks so much better than that shiny thing I started with!

Looking great, nice work!

I'm learning a lot Andrew- I've been stalking the build thread. Looks like you are just about there, looking great!
-
Thanks guys! The wires will be toast, I will look for some much thinner ones. Still lots of sanding to do it sounds like then, good tips on the paint! I can leave the shiny only for the handle and will plan on repainting with more of a flat black. Appreciate it!

Hi everyone; waiting on the armor and doing what I can in the meantime. I saw the thread about the wires on the E-11; do these look OK? Have not glued them in yet and I still have a lot of sanding and painting and weathering to do, but wanted to check with everyone before I cemented these in. I appreciate the feedback!

The helmet is looking great- nice work! This has been a great thread; guess I need to not rely on velcro only myself and get me some snaps, straps and s-trim while waiting on my kit.

It's looking great Andrew! Hit the toy show with us this Saturday I would love to see it in person.
-
Looks fantastic Andrew you are almost there! I'm so jealous you are going to be out there trooping by Halloween for sure.
Yea that cat is a rebel sympathizer, she wants out of that restroom bad.
