  1. Right click the image in your local Dropbox folder and choose "Copy Dropbox link" and change ?dl=0 to ?raw=1 at the end of the URL. Now it'll embed.

Now, how do you replace 100 pictures in a thread quickly on THIS forum?

    - Click on edit post

    - Right click image placeholder and choose "Open image in new tab" (This is in Chrome. IE or Firefox may differ)

    - Go to new tab (this will be Photobucket) and save image from new tab into the local Dropbox folder you want to use

    - Keep the Dropbox folder open (I recommend viewing files in detail view and ordering by "date created" so the current image is always at the top)

    - Right click saved image and choose "Copy Dropbox link"

    - Return to forum post and backspace to delete image in forum post

    - Click "Insert other media (bottom right) and choose "Insert image from URL"

    - Paste URL and change ?dl=0 to ?raw=1 at the end of the URL

    - Repeat

This may sound difficult, but once you get into a groove it takes about 10 seconds an image.

This saves you from having to download your whole Photobucket en masse, an trying to figure out what images were where. It is also way easier than uploading to a new image hosting service and running through the process of getting the new image URL for each.

Feel free to copy and paste this to any forum anywhere . . . I don't mind.

  2. I had to use an american Bothan to get it across the border.  You can also ship to one of those boxes in the US and go pick it up! I recommend finding a troop nearby, to make the trip worthwhile, hehehe

It has not been a problem, for anyone I know, bringing it across the border themselves. If you have it in hand (well not literally . . . I reckon you could get shot that way), you simply tell them it's a prop/toy. They are at least trained well enough to know rubber when they see it.

  3. Hey folks, I just wanted to say that I haven't been around FISD for a bit (very busy with Garrison stuff, and life in general), but if you're reading this and you have any questions, please feel free to ask here or PM me.  I'll get notified ;)

To answer the super old post from March, that I somehow missed, I got the resin blaster from a seller in Ontario (Canada) called Quest designs.  That wasn't the name at the time, I don't think, but that's how you'll find him now. It's a beautiful blaster, but I don't troop with it much any more.  I switched to a hyperfirm because it's much lighter and can take a lot of punishment (and I punish my kits!!).

    Thanks everyone!

  4. I am aware there have been, and will continue to be, a great many posts on this subject.

This thread was posted as an announcement, to warn prospective 501st TKs, about the dangers of following these instructions blindly.

It needs to be made very clear, right from the outset, that these instructions constitute a single opinion, and not even one whose objective is necessary 501st approval.

It's always good to double and triple check any aspect of your build, no matter what the consensus is. This is just a warning to the more eager new builders, to slow down, and recognize these instructions for what they are.

As always, your first best reference should be the screen.

  5. To all those who ordered Original Trilogy Stormtrooper kits from ANOVOS:

ANOVOS has sent out "instructions", and to the best of my knowledge those instructions have not been vetted by members of FISD (whitearmor.net). Please be careful when following them, as they may very well contain erroneous directions as pertains to 501st approval. These are instructions provided by a corporation who sells Stormtrooper armour, and is in no way affiliated with the 501st Legion or the 1st Imperial Stormtrooper detachment. When in doubt, ask here on FISD!

  6. Just my opinion. I contacted the DL about my concerns with no response. Sorry if it offended you. I feel it was rushed as there were glaring errors and horrible photos used. I have no beef with Dawn or Luke, or you for that matter. Your use of provocative language isn't going to change my opinion of it, and I didn't post in a public space, so I'm comfortable with what I said.

  7. Don't mean to post 3 times in a row, but I just went over this thread, since for some reason I wasn't receiving notifications for it (It was unfollowed).

I have spent a LOT of time on the Knights of Ren Facebook group, and spoke to Luke Daley a lot too.  I am currently building a Kylo Ren as well, which may be ready for the premier (although I doubt it could possibly be approved in time).

The CRL is terrible.  The photos in the CRL are worse.  There is a level 2 and 3, which is just plain comical, since half the stuff at the base level can't be verified yet.  The boots show heels (he has no heels), there is a midcoat requirement, which I think everyone has wrong, and the bucket image is actually an embarrassment to the entire legion.  It looks like papier mache. I don't know why they rushed this CRL, let alone had the hubris to create a level 2 and 3, but it's all a steaming pile of . . . shouldn't have happened as it happened.  Just my two cents.
