1. I miss fanexpo! Hope to make it again next yr...

On a side note, Halloween costumes are out, found a costume at value village with the one way mesh for the face ($13) for costume, but you'd need to cut out the face from the hood and install into your Jawa hood.., it'd be breezier than what you have now, my opinion (only real way to tell is to try it out).

Just a heads up

  2. From the CRL....

For level two certification (if applicable):
Folding stock (does not need to function).
A real or replica ammo counter - based off of a Hengstler counter - shall be present.
D-ring mounted on the rear.
Sterling based blasters have the correct M-38 or M-19 style scope.
Two power cylinders on the magazine housing.
Scratch-built, resin cast, Hyperfirm rubber cast blasters shall have a total of 6 T-tracks on blaster (leaving the lowest row on the magazine housing side uncovered).
If using the Hasbro E11 toy blaster, it is modified to have the correct number of T-tracks (6 total), with a lower row of open vent holes on the magazine housing side.
This is accomplished by covering the pre-existing rows of holes with T-tracks, then grinding off the lower integrated T-track on the magazine housing side, and drilling a new row of holes in its place.
No ESB/ROTJ greeblies are allowed on the blaster.
For level three certification (if applicable):
Hasbro blasters are not allowed, even conversions.

  3. When people ask how to build a TK, I say, each one is customized to the owner... They are, from the fitting, down to the strapping. Each has their own way of doing things, are they right or wrong? No, when worn, the look the same, to give a uniformed identity. That's how you can tell if a TK is right or wrong, not in the semantics of the strapping or the painting inside the bucket... Or the mesh in the teeth. Some TKs have these things, others don't, it's all personal preference.

Want to figure out if your armour or bucket needs things? Try without first, then add later if you still insist.

This note is to none in particular lol

  4. More or less the same as with the difference between a RS or a FX.

Does it effect you? Or everyone? And does the difference really need to be commented on? I bet over 90% see differences between suits, when next to each other - but they all are just stormies for them, each of them.

Armor only? Or same for addons? Where to draw the line? A bad Solo isn´t affected by a bad plastic gun and it´s "behaviour", but a good one can be really downgraded by such details. Same for a stormie.

So we nit pick and argue or banter back and forth, and give the rest of the club the term "elitist"...
  5. People who don't know how to handle guns properly also rarely carry guns the way you think looks realistic, regardless of weight.

Aren't we nit picky enough about the plastic, or do we have to take it a step further and get picky on how we carry blasters or weapons... Come on guys, lighten up!

  6. Thanks guys! yes we are on page 50.. I have learned about so many things from all the amazing people that have posted within this thread from it's very start as well as enjoyed sharing the many ups and downs of this emotional and spiritual journey. Chuckles..

We are on page 50.. can you believe it!!!???? Sharing in my other Jawa build slightly added to it. I am proud to say I am a member and looking forward to joining the TK ranks as well!

I am expecting to move through EIB and possibly Centurion in no time.. though it's not fully my goal.. I just want to have fun and hang out with good people while doing good things!

Don't forget, start with basic approval in mind first... Can modify later for EIB and Centurion later... One step at a time.

  8. Just hope there's no repercussions for the 501st, now that this can of worms has been opened.... Looks nice, but you've taken a prop to fully functional... Just be aware the implications for the rest of us. It only takes one or a few to bring the whole down. As the saying goes, one bad Apple, spoils the bunch.

    - Lord Vader is in the next room? Hurry, let's clean this up...

  9. My lenses are from Vaderpainter on eBay, maybe it was the way that they were formed? As for sound, would Tony's audio assist kit be able to help? I have also seen other audio amplifier equipment that could possibly benefit you - I will look into it and get back to you with some options Captain!

Been thinking about the audio kit, but uncertain... As my hearing loss is reverse slope I'm uncertain about paying a lot (as I had done with two different sets of hearing aids) just to find out it doesn't help...

As to lenses... I have no clue... My lens come from SDS and is one piece like what they used in ANH...

  10. Yes mate, all of my troops have been with bubble lenses and had no problems EXCEPT when it gets hot and they fog up. This should be remedied now that I have got fans from Tony. Additionally would have been much worse had I not followed your great tip to mount the lenses with Velcro like you showed me - so fist bump for another awesome piece of advice !!!

I tried my bubble lenses, always carry them about to a troop, but can't see details... Figured it wasn't as safe as a flat lenses, but think I'll try to keep them in... I can see, just shapes mostly... Doesn't help with lip reading, as I'm tone deaf, but the bucket doesn't do much for that either lol

  11. Alright.. so it's that time of thread again that I take a moment to thank everyone that has been a part of this amazing build thread.

Yes I know it has wandered a little here and there but I have been given nothing but compliments.. this one just a moment ago by a friend..

"Your thread is the most robust tome of information"

Thank you.. I'm so happy to have you all on this journey with me in my current Jawa or ongoing TK build... soon to eventually be the Shoretrooper I hope. Laughs..

    Anyway.. thanks you all.. ♥

TK Jawa or Armoured Jawa here we come lol

Like I said, you may be required to purchase a whole costume for the one way mesh thing...
