  1. I had a set of Vader Painter replacement lenses for my FOTK bucket on my Ebay watch list forever but never bought them (my mistake). Now he's gone and my armor is close to being done.  I did a search but didn't see any current options pop up here. If there are any makers for lenses out there, please let me know. I don't think I'd be able to keep my bucket on very long with the stock lenses.

  2. Total shot in the dark here, but does anyone who has done an FOTK according to UKSWrath's tutorial that has the Devcon glue and glue gun dispenser want to get rid of theirs? Before I bought new I thought I'd ask here before buying. Didn't realize how pricey the the dispenser is...more than the glue itself!! It would be the Mark 5 Epoxy Gun, Devcon 14280.

  3. I will have to try a pair of the Gorilla Grip gloves.  I got the black rubber gloves now but my hands were drowning in sweat after 5 minutes.  I can not imagine trooping all day with them on.

I have trooped the rubber gloves for 6-7 hours straight and my hands were prunes...but the smell....GOOD GOD THE SMELL!!! I need something else for Non-LFL events, so I'm glad I found this thread. I'm pretty sure I have some black nomex in my garage somewhere.

  4. One of the first things I noticed on my kit, is the the bottom of the front thigh pieces are very different from what I see in the movie. It looks like they need to be trimmed to the right shape. If you were to trim them at the pull lines, they wouldn't look the same. Is that normal and is there a good template to do that?

  5. Built in cloth gaskets can still be removed for washing. It only takes a few velcro tabs and it never has to be adjusted when you put it on. I suspect this is the reason for the movie suits as well. Easy way to keep track of left and right parts too.

Personally, I would do everything I could to make rubber screen accurate gaskets and stay away from cloth.

    I'm on your list now!

  6. That's a good point. Curious what the reason was behind making them separate vice making them integral to the bicep/arm and thigh/calf. I can see them being removable for washing an such. I'm just now looking into FOTK so I'm assuming someone has reference photos of the gaskets being separate from the armor?

  7. I just got my shipping info and my kit will be here tomorrow, so I'm not really sure. I'm not the fastest builder in the galaxy that's for sure, but it looks like a 3 month and 6 month wait for rubber or cloth respectively. I think my wife could actually make the cloth version, but I don't know enough about the process. Zuko's look great, but I can see how they can be labor intensive and it's rough when building for others with high expectations. Let's face it, "customers" can be a PITA sometimes and it's just not worth the aggravation. I think eventually, I'll go with rubber for "hi profile" events and then cloth for troops that don't require 100% SA.

Zuko... if you're willing to let us know your materials and methods, please let me know. I'm pretty sure we can make the cloth version.

  8. My kit is getting near the point of shipping and I've been wondering about the gasket issue. I've contacted IG and they gave me the rundown on both as far as price. They mention that the cloth is not as SA. I'm looking for any input from first hand users of both as far as level of difficulty finishing the kit, comfort and mobility. I was at CVII and heard multiple accounts of the Anovos rubber gaskets being very restrictive on movement. It's been a year or so now and I know IG has sold many sets. So please let me know what you thing of both.
