TKModder421's Nico Henderson R1TK helmet build
Sly11 replied to TKModder421's topic in Rogue One Build Threads
Wow, superb work Greg! -
Lets not confuse a cartoon TK with other CRL's. If someone wishes to build that costume then we can create a CRL for it like we did for the animated Rebels program. It looks vastly different in shape so elements from that design have no place in a as seen on screen live action costume. hence not the right comparison to make. Looking at the helmet alone, we see a few differences, no clips, different shape peaked chin, plus smooth under suit just to name a few. I'm sure someone can 3D design one that looks like the animated version so people can print it out and that should be a completely different discussion. Disney Parks armour is still not as seen on screen nor screen used or accurate to the movies of which Legion bases the bulk of their CRL's on. Again that could be a different CRL but would not fall under the main category of Saga like the movie based CRL's do.

Requesting support for new CRL HEAVY ASSAULT STORMTROOPER
Sly11 replied to Dragula1982's topic in Forum Help & Support
Looks like this is reasonably straight forward based on other CRL's in place. I certainly wouldn't envy anyone having to carry a blaster that heavy around a con for a day lol. -
Good on you James, keep it up the great work brother.

Greetings all Just an FYI Each year we retire all IPM access and get ready to work on activating the detachment plans for the new term. What this means is all those with IPM status will be set back to attaché status or 501st Stormtrooper status. As we start to realise the actual workload of execution of the plan, we will look to bring more members onto IPM if the area of work exists in that section of the forums (an area only visible to IPM level extended staff. Thank you to those that helped in this area in the last term, this is no reflection on the fine work anyone did, simply our reset to go again. Generally, we would be in election cycle at this time but due to an early finish for us, we can get the ball rolling 10 days earlier than those still under elections. Stay tuned for updates and call outs for assistance.

We aim to please but also to make sure we involve all our members. Discussion of a new ladies section is no secret and we are making good on bringing this full circle with its own section of the FISD forums. Come and help Teresa make this a new friendly and safe home for all our female TK's and make it your own. This new section is opening soon. More competitions, first off will be a design competition (members only), and a chance to leave a mark on the face of the FISD forums, keep your eyes open for that. There is some revamping going to take place and expansion on areas where technology is improving and times changing. We look forward to adding a section for 3D resin printers, these are becoming very popular with brilliant results and we want those with experience to share their knowledge, files and services right here on FISD. The replica section is also undertaking a minor tweak to include First Order TK's. If you are OCD and love those fine details and magic finds, you will have a place to post your intimate armour details inside and out. It amazes me we still find hidden gems on OT bits and pieces so I look forward to more with the newer generation stuff. Who wants merch!!, we are already working up ideas for this years items, so keep an eye on the forums for interest threads, competitions and more. More CRL work to come, not only are we looking to add more goodies to current CRL's but the entire legion is preparing to move to an updated CRL Platform. This will be a monumental task for every detachment and needs to be totally complete by October when the old platform will no longer be supported by the vendor. The hopes are for new look CRL's with added features to possibly make it easier to create and use all CRL's. New functionality is also on the agenda. The mystery stuff: Are you preparing for the 1500! more to come on that in the future. More staff to continue to expand in every direction we can. I will be looking to add additional staff with skill sets for particular areas we wish to grow, watch this space for updates and plan initiatives where you could make a difference and support your fellow members. More to come but hopefully this whets your appetite for the moment. We are in for a great year on all our platforms! With unquestioned loyalty Andrew Franke TK-11469 (Sly11)

Now the new term is upon us I will work to bring this full circle. DL announcement for the new term will be posted later today with an overview of the plan for this term. I am excited to make this a reality and we have some lovely staff ready to be engaged and assist in growing or female presence on the forums.

Thank you all

I think the rear sight should be fine until we look at these again in the near future and determine what variations and options can be added to the CRL. I believe the DO's are only mentioning it and it is not a requirement currently. I will also point out that it looks like we have another shared template across the TFA and TLJ CRL's as the end cap information was correct and is now reflecting the TLJ which is different. Also to note the Centurion requirement for the working light on the SE-44C side arm has disappeared. Shared templates served their purpose when the CRL's were first created but because we are improve them, now they have become problematic. This is something I need to amend by creating a separate template in both CRL's so it can never happen again on any future amendments to either of those CRL's. We only discovered this one yesterday so I will get it remedied as soon as possible. Apologies if this has caused any confusion to both the DO's and members alike.

Novus polish is excellent and specifically designed for polishing plastics. You can buy it in a 3 pack which is Novus 1,2 and 3. ! being a spray for quick polish or final polish, 2 for light scratches and 3 for heavy scratches. I use Novus for all black marks and scratch repairs. As far as repairs on the job, i always carry tubes of CA glue and spare small pieces of ABS and HIPS. These can be used behind your armour where you find a crack. Good to stop it from spreading specially on return edges.

Definitely get onto IMGUR as has been suggested. Unfortunately with the volume of members we have, and the fact we share a server with legion, we just don't have enough storage capacity to direct store many images. Once you are set up, if you want your storage space cleared if it is full, just shoot me a PM and i can clear it for you as it is a back end function. Great work on that back pack Eric, looking very nice.

Where do you store your wallet/ID and phone?
Sly11 replied to gromitsdad's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Yeah, I got no hope of ever sitting down either lol -
Yes it's only a slight indent, part clean up, part possibly thicker material and different type compared to the original stunts as the Heroes were pulled in ABS. I think an easy mod Chris has mentioned he is looking at.
-
This is a cast from an original Hero TK that was on display at celebration Orlando. The left side or right as you look at it definitely has the 4th tooth indent. You can also just make it out in the following 2 images of original hero helmets.

Welcome aboard Bill, sounds like you have a great plan and we can certainly help you with your build and the finer accuracy details of Solo's hero armour.
